First of all, welcome!

If you haven't already, please read the sidebar for the rules etc. If possible, alongside posting a generic YouTube or Bandcamp link to a song, if you could post links to other services you use (such as Spotify) then it makes it easier for people to listen on their preferred platform. This isn't essential, but I think it makes it easier for everyone to access the music and listen the way they want to.

And if you want to be a real saint, you could remove unnecessary parameters from links ๐Ÿ˜‰ (though I don't expect everyone to go to that much trouble).

Enjoy some good fucking music! ๐Ÿค˜

Fucking brilliant thrash we've come to expect from Canadian speed/thrashers Razor. I thought it had been a little while since the last post ;D. One of their great later albums, only being let down by the use of a drum machine instead of a drummer :(.

50% Stoner metal, 30% heavy metal, 20% thrash, these guys from California are another of my recent collection from my sludge metal journey. Let me know if all this has been too same-y, I can post something different!

EDIT: shit I linked the wrong track lol, fixed now.

Classified as speed/sludge/thrash metal, these guys' main influences are Mastodon and High on Fire. Production is a little muddy, as all sludge should be, but the vocals are pretty low in the mix and I don't think I can hear the bass guitar lol. But I feel it's worth a share here. Enjoy some obscure stuff!

Very raw crossover. Not very fast but quite catchy.

Swedish speed metal, emulating the greats of the 80's, as if the 90's and beyond never happened. Speed metal forever \m/

These Canadians play old school thrash metal with heaps of melodic technicality. The solos in this are insane and will have you headbanging more and more as they progress saying "Holy shit!!" as I did when I first heard this lol. This guitarist is the power behind Autonoesis, the one man technical thrash/black metal band I posted a few weeks back.

Skourge performs crossover/death/hardcore - another unique mixture of extreme metal which works well, though not as catchy as I feel it could be. If the vocals sounds familiar it's because Seth Gilmore of Fugitive and Power Trip is killing it lol. Anyway, this band sounds a lot like if Obituary played a bit of thrash amongst their old school death.

Sludge metal has such a wealth of undiscovered hidden gems, it's extremely criminal how unknown some of these bands are. I seriously wouldn't know about half of these bands that I upload unless I go out of my way to look for this shit similar to my other tastes, LET ALONE something completely new and unique, like that one Iron Age upload I had a few days ago. What a journey lol.

Anyway, LotM is like if you mix Celtic Frost and Eyehategod. Nice thick sound with punishing riffs and tight songwriting. Loving this every time I hear it.

This album released for me around 1.5hrs ago! Just finished, and it is amazing. Nothing too "experimental" just Warbringer kicking ass as per usual! Instruments and playing is on point, as to be expected from this band! Despite it fitting in well with Warbringer's usual discography, it is definitely memorable and definitely worth a (many) listens xD.

YT and Spotify links to "Cage of Air" from the album:

Crossover time! This time we have a band attempting to kind of emulate Anthrax a bit here. Nothing original but it's got a decent production and it sounds fun.

Admittedly, I have still only heard their first album so far, even having posted another song from this album around a year ago. While I do definitely enjoy this album, it isn't really my go-to style, so I just haven't got round to giving the rest a chance. I think maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of the guitar tone or vocals. However, like I mentioned, I do still really enjoy the music. Enjoy, and let me know what you think!

Sludge metal with just enough thrash to post here. Imagine if Kyuss had Lemmy sing for em, only fuckin metal.

I was originally gonna post another sludge/crossover pick but my undiagnosed ADHD led me to share this. This frenetic technical death/thrash is for fans of Sadus and Atheist, it's right up there with the best of em!

Sloppy second surprise upload today lol. Another favorite deathrasher favorite track of mine. Was listening to Oxygen Destroyer a bit more and heard similar riffs and sounds from Vader - I would like to think these mad Poles are inspiring newer groups!

Crazy good single from these dudes. You know what to expect if you're a Power Trip fan. A lot of this track reminds me of Whiplash from Metallica. \m/

In my quest for bands that sound similar to Power Trip and Fugitive, I stumbled across this somewhat recently formed band from Finland. Very similar indeed but the voice is less appealing in my opinion. I do like the audible bass though, creates a "thump-y crunch" to the harsh guitar tone.

Went down a grenre-twisting rabbit hole yesterday, I did, and I found a wealth of great tunes in this sludge/crossover niche! Gonna share with you guys some of my favorite picks over the next day or two.

Blackened thrash with heaps of punk and 80s old-school style on tap. Largely a one-man band from Joel Grind. This is a song taken from TH's debut, one of their more raw releases.

Every now and then you come across a band that existed at one point, that blends certain genres together, released one or two albums of decent quality and fantastic production, then fuck off somewhere - split up and nothing else. Iron Age is one of these bands. Genres include Thrash (obviously or I wouldn't bother posting here), Sludge, Doom, Crossover, and a tiny bit of Hardcore Punk. It's quite the intriguing mixture and it works so well. I wish they had stuck around. Seems like the guitarist here, Chris Ulsh, is Power Trip's drummer!

Classic brutal thrash in the vein of Demolition Hammer. Had these guys not split up after this album they would have definitely played death thrash. This album sounds like it has the same style of production that some old school death metal bands were doing back in the day, but still thrash lol.
