I was. Then deleted the whole shebang. I rather write idiot comments than be in charge of anything, especially my own personal blog. I'm not interested in any particular niche that you can come chat about tbh. I am, but not really. I just like using lemmy as a journal lol same way I used reddit. But I do appreciate something when I see it. I love the small self starter vibe, and I can sort by all and interact with everything and entertain myself.
... I'm not a mod
not with that attitude
aa
I'm a rocker!
Are we?
I guess I technically mod a community with one post (mine) and 2 subscribers (me and somebody)
That's how it starts! 🤣
I still don't understand how this site works. I sort by Active and get posts from 2 days ago, sort by hot and get posts from last week, and I sort by new to get 10 second old posts.
Your sorting is working properly. When you sort by active, you’ll get posts that people are actively commenting on. When you sort by hot, you’ll get posts that lots of people are looking at, and when you sort by new, well, those are the new posts… so 10 seconds seems about right.
It works the same on Reddit. It’s just that there’s a lot more users, a lot more engagement and a lot more overall content over there.
I've thought about starting communities here but my interests seem too niche.
Start it anyway and just post images or guides from your interest.
Showerthoughts
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.
Rules
- All posts must be showerthoughts
- The entire showerthought must be in the title
- Avoid politics
- NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
- Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
- Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
- Posts must be original/unique
- Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct-----
