You might get a momentary pause of confusion, but the baby will know you're faking and may start angry crying

What if its like Meryl Streep or something? Makes the baby believe she is crying on thr same level?
If you need a baby to stop crying you need a slice of cheese.
No, they just cry louder.
And actually, that's pretty much how it works until they move out.
My father in law told me, “The first fifty years are the worst”. (My oldest is 35). So far he’s been right.
"The first ten million years were the worst. The next ten million were the worst too. After that, I think I went into a bit of a decline."
Idk about young babies but when I worked at a restaurant I had a colleague who would approach toddlers that were having tantrums and cry back mockingly and most of the time they'd stop and stare at him like wtf dude. He was a huge and goofy looking guy though so I'm sure it had something to do with that too.
Sometimes they quiet down out of confusion but I once got hit with a "DADDY, QUIET!!" between screams out of my kid when she got a bit older and wised up to the act
They stop crying because they see it as a distraction. They don’t stop crying out of sympathy or anything.
I find babies are fine with adults crying near them as long as the adult is not showing contempt ( fake crying to mess with the baby) or panic ( babies pick up on that)
