800 people clicked subscribe but noone talks. This is 99.99% of Lemmy communities. :)

[-] Chriszz@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

People say this but every post I see has comments on it

Yeah if you sort by Top or Active, you see posts with activity and this is the default behavior for most clients.

[-] Chriszz@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

I think that’s the case for active but isn’t top based on votes?

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 0 points 1 year ago

Ah maybe yes. I admit I haven't looked into it. :)

[-] DasRubberDuck@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

1 in 100 votes, of those 1 in 100 comments and of those 1 in 100 posts new stuff.

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 1 points 1 year ago

I never understood why people dont post comments. It's really no effort to say something.

Somtimes people dont have an option, dont think their opinion matter or just dont want to engage in conversation. Also consumation is much more easy then writing something, spellchecking it and sending it.

i don't know maybe reddit is still better in that department i use reddit way more than lemmy the ui is just better to me but maybe in the future lemmy will be even better :D

I just despise the owners. :)

[-] elouboub@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago

Not specific to Lemmy. It's normal to have >99% consumers and <1% creators. You can do your part

[-] marv99@feddit.de 2 points 1 year ago

Although I know what you mean, it is not fully true for this community. In some of the posts there has been quite some discussions with even some more nice ideas and webpages popping up ;).

[-] 1984@lemmy.today 2 points 1 year ago

Yeah it's OK the way things are now. Some nice discussions every day.

[-] Chriszz@lemmy.world 13 points 1 year ago

Not to be an ass but would you really say it’s “gone viral”?

[-] TheCheddarCheese@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

lemmy is way smaller than reddit

[-] Eggcat@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

well since lemmy is tiny compared to reddit the amount of subs means way more than on reddit lol i made this community when i was 15 years old, i literally never expected it to go "viral" lmao

Congratultions & thank you @Eggcat@lemmy.ml I really love this community as there are so many wonderful ideas (websites) still to be discovered on the internet.

Do you have an idea, why for me only 24 subscribers (for sure not correct) are displayed?

[-] Celtic7670@feddit.de 5 points 1 year ago

24 people of your instance, feddit.de, have subscribed to the community.

[-] marv99@feddit.de 3 points 1 year ago

Ah this makes sense. Thank you for the explanation :) So seems about time to pull some fellow feddit members into this community.

I do self-criticism constantly because I’m trapped in a Maoist cult where comrades (white terrorists) criticize me mercilessly for having a fascist credit card (VISA Silver Signature Rewards)

They won’t let me order vegan pizza anymore because the phone is fascist and “summoning my pizza slaves with a bourgeois app" is “bad vibes”

Give me some of what you're smoking.
