When it comes to legality it is not reasonable for us to ask instance admins to risk themselves over something like age requirements for NSFW content. I fully agree with this decision if you feel it is necessary to protect yourself, which seems to be the correct take.

As long as I don’t have to give personal, identifying info, I’m down.

You know, the world is larger than Japan and the US

Yeah Mullvad or Proton I’d say are well worth the investment. I doubt it’s necessary but I use secure core on proton whenever I am doing very legal and very cool things.

So they didn’t say it’s an opinion. Cool.

No. We played “wait and see” 2016-2020. We know how this shit is going down.

I just wanted to come back and apologize. I’ve been in a pretty shitty mood the last few days and I’ve been letting a lot of stuff get to me.I shouldn’t go online and take it out on other people and just spread that misery.

It doesn’t matter whether or not I think the word is flexible. I shouldn’t talk to people like that, I don’t know a thing about you and I just started attacking you. Again I apologize

Exclusivity in general (not always) is a mistake. Sony has been learning this with the money they’re raking in doing PC ports finally, and Microsoft is learning it when they realize that going exclusive while also offering Game Pass cannibalizes direct sales beyond an acceptable amount (HFR, Indiana Jones). Nintendo only gets away with it because of their tight control of their IP’s and complete refusal to port to virtually anything. They barely even port their old back catalog to their current hardware. If you try to do a middle ground you often end up with the worst of both worlds.

They need to open up pretty substantially or lock it down completely, though the latter requires you to have a very strong exclusive catalog which Sony and Microsoft do not have right now compared to Nintendo.

Another good example is the Wii U. The catalog on that console is actually pretty thin compared to Wii and Switch, and it suffered for it. People try to explain it with vague statements about how folks didn’t understand what it was or whatever, and I’m sure that contributed, but it took them several years to get any games of note off the ground which meant there was no reason to buy one.

You’re absolutely right. Indie is a murky term that people use very liberally. I’m glad we agree that being pedantic and rigid about a definition when the rest of society isn’t out of some weird need to be a contrarian online “well AKSHOOALEE”-ing folks is not only unproductive, but it kind of makes you a tool.

Have a great rest of your week. Feel free to have the last word. I’m sure it’s very important to you.

Exactly you never actually commit to any sort of wager or even an imitation of financial risk.

Fuck off I have kids, lived in the 90’s, and even I recognize Christmas vacation. Haven’t seen it in its entirety, but I am familiar with it as a cultural touchstone and seen chunks over the years because it was a common rerun. Hence why most people get this meme.

It’s not a crime to not recognize a movie but don’t throw down “as a PARENT I am too BUSY to watch movies” while you indignantly post on a niche web forum about how “you were there so you know” as if that is any more valid than an out context meme.
