I've never heard anyone say respect is earned not given that isn't a narcissist.
Respect SHOULD be given. It should also be taken away when it's clear it isn't deserved. To do otherwise is to live in a fucking cesspit of a world.
Trump deserves zero respect though. Just to be clear.
This last election was one of the most polarized we've had. And they happen. But the nod came close to winning a majority in my lifetime (they've really lost the plot lately).
The influence of parties outside the "big two" waxes and wanes but they remain an important factor in a democratic process that, while flawed because of FPTP and many other reasons, remains a healthy-ish democracy. I stress the ish.
I want the CN Tower inside me. All of it.
Every other country with first past the post parting has third and fourth parties that actually win seats.
I'd agree with the overall point of your comment though. First past the post is problematic and does tend towards favouring two parties, though to my knowledge out all of the countries that employ FPTP the us is the only one where people believe there are only two possible options.
Coalitions are formed all the time in Canada between our two most popular parties and smaller parties.

I agree. It's almost as batshit as believing a two party system is your only option despite there being nothing making it so besides convention.

Patents can't be owned by companies. Only individuals. In the event of any patent being the result of a team effort each person responsible for its development is gets a proportion of profits from it.
If person develops a patent while employed at a corporation that company owns a lease on the patent lasting 10 or 20 years or something .

i never liked yourube. i have barely ever watched it. and it has been a huge driver pf the enshitifcation of the internet since its debut, as more and more content became bideo content, and accessing useful information in text form became more and kore difficult.
it is kind of hard for me to have strong feelings about something that, in my opinion, has always sucked ass, sucking more ass
