Yes, we just can't stop getting W's
Like the time the EU Commission tried to circumvent E2EE but failed
Or the other time our EU Commission tried to circumvent E2EE but failed
Or the other time... why the fuck are they trying this like every 2 weeks? They're currently working on a new proposal but just recently ~~stopped~~ paused because they estimated that it wouldn't pass the parliament
Yeah there are plenty of things to criticize about the EU but at least they are mostly open about their attempts at undermining democracy.
They're open about their attempts to open your chat log.
Because there are people who got put there to try to push that stuff.
and that it was acting as a "challenger" to digital monopolies operated by established platforms such as Meta,
Did those in the room burst out into laughter at this point?
And then they unveiled their, "ByteDance: We're totally not the CCP" logo.
And everyone laughed harder.
I love that they're treating all the companies equally, like Meta and Alphabet, too. Unlike the US. How do we get EU tech policies in the US? 😭
First step, make lobbying illegal ffs
That's a big step considering the people who would make the laws are corrupt from lobbying.
