Since Jan 11, 2022, I have worked on getting the Nexus 5 over on Mobian.

Here's a year of progress.

I will update my repo soon.

This is amazing, I will have to dig out my old Nexus 5 and give it a try someday. Nexus 5 was my favorite form factor of any touchscreen phone I've owned.

Yup, it'a somewhat stable as long as you don't do any intensive task.

Web browsing, SIM, BT, and Kernel Instability are my main concern.

Give it a try!

Awesome. In pmOS there are issues related to the GPU like not being able to turn the screen off, or X11 not working (only wayland), is there a status overview or list of nonworking features?

Yup!

Not working:

  • Audio (BT Only)
  • Camera
  • GPU Accel
  • SIM
  • Thermal Conditioning
  • X11 (Screen tears [fixed only on pmOS])

Partial:

  • GPU
  • Kernel (Sometimes opps/panics.)
  • Wi-Fi (2.4GHZ only)

Working:

  • CPU
  • Touch
  • BT
  • OTG

Not tested:

  • GPS
  • Waydroid
  • HDMi

I apologize for the late response, Jerboa doesn't notify me.

I will adress Audio/HDMI/GPS on flto's kernel.
