Hi everyone! c/comedyheaven is looking for moderators!

As some of you may have noticed, I've taken a step back from posting as much, as I'm focusing on my mental health a little more. This also means I don't have as much time to monitor this community.

However, there is a lot potential here. So, if you're interested in helping to moderate and encourage this community to be all that it can be, leave a comment or message me!

I will still be around (on the mod team) to help keep an eye on things and post when I have content to post. I just feel that this community deserves some extra time and attention.

Potential moderators must believe in the core objective of this community: to create an inviting community, free of hate (racism, ableism, transphobia, homophobia, or any other), dedicated to humor that meets our guidelines.

When you reach out, let me know what experience you have, if any, and preferably what timezone you live in.

Looking forward to hearing from you all :)

How did volunteers who run reddit's for-profit business for them for free end up equated with landed gentry?

Looking at the world rn, I dont think things have a tendency to get better on their own

This is called a recency bias (I think lol) - you're looking at the world rn and assuming its trends must continue. When you look at history you see that there are ebbs and flows, and that stasis is rare. If you focus on certain things, you may certainly decide we're in a downtrend. There will always be an uptrend afterward. And vice versa

Not talking about being with one partner at a time. Talking about the idea of finding "the one" and being with them your whole life.

50% divorce rate. 97% of people (in the US) don't wait till marriage, so most of us have multiple sexual partners prior to the one we stick with. Many have children with more than one partner.

How can anyone look at the world and think, yeah, there's one that's meant for everyone and just one?

Also hope I don't come across disrespectful. If you do believe in monogamy, I am interested in hearing from you. I'm just buzzed and thinking about my own love life and being curt

Edit: Speaking to the idea that it's the "natural order" or default. Not that it can't work in individual circumstances, especially when we've been programmed for decades

Who would win, a B-17 Flying Fortress with no bombs, or the USS Missouri?

Edit: Also the Missouri can fly too, but it's a little less maneuverable, usually

The Millennium Falcon would destroy the Enterprise somehow. Then Kirk and crew would be stranded on a planet until they find a way to get aboard and commandeer the Falcon. Ultimately they would use it to go back in time and save the whales or something

Yeah, the admins deserve all our support on this. Not only to protect themselves as server owners, but to stop the spread. Hopefully a longterm solution will be found soon

I have Stardew Valley and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on my Android phone, and I'd like to put them onto my PC. It seems like most of the ways I've found online include using the Google Play store in some way. Which, is an option. But, though I'm no privacy purist I'd still like to resist giving Google more access to my machines if I can avoid it. So is there a way to rip or move my games from Android to PC without using Google Play?

I'd rather vote for Trump to accelerate the decline of the world so the revolution is easier / faster

It always astounds me that people who have enough intelligence to read so much doctrine (some of which does have value) give in to such ends-means justification. The "revolution" is not inevitable, nor is its victory, nor is its success in making life that much better. Sacrificing others' lives and well-being in the here and now has zero justification because there's no guarantee that it will make any situation any better. They're just zealots

Not to mention employee protection/rights laws that don't always apply to contractors

"Latino" is still considered by many native speakers to be "neutral"

So like, is there any sizeable Latin community actually calling for a gender neutral term or is this just a middle-class white people thing? Because as a white person I've never seen anyone push for this other than white people and it just seems like a white savior/ daddy knows best thing. But my experience is just my experience

How is auth-left Robin Hood? Sure they wanna redistribute wealth from the rich to the poor, but otherwise Robin Hood is pretty anarchist. I wouldn't compare anyone on the compass to such an unproblematic character but surely he's closest to lib-left

As a graphic designer I do agree. If the makers of the Connect app wish I'd be more than willing to help them with a new logo. It's not a bad concept per se, just needs some better execution
