Republicans made themselves into “Christian libertarians” in order to get along with Leftists, effectively producing the groundwork for the uniparty. As part of this gesture, they praise Leftist ideals like equality while demanding a mere handful of libertarian and conservative notions like free markets.

These positions represent a retreat, not a forward step, which is why they are always styled in moral terms rather than practical ones. The secret to conservatism is that it works better than any other method, and ironically, produces as much of what Leftists want — except subsidies — as can be done in nature.

Many contemporary conservatives adopt cope-hope tropes that they hope seem bold enough to attract an audience. One of these is praise of Calvin Coolidge for doing nothing but reducing government, but this glosses over how Coolidge paired paleoconservative libertarianism with 1870s progressivism to continue the civil war legacy:

Coolidge was also a visionary who championed equal rights. Shortly after assuming office in 1923, he declared to Congress that the rights of African Americans were “as sacred as those of any other people” and that it was both a “public and private duty to safeguard those rights.”

He advocated for anti-lynching legislation but was blocked by congressional Democrats. Coolidge’s opposition to racism and prejudice saw millions leave the KKK, and the lynching of blacks decreased. His central piece of Civil Rights legislation was the granting of U.S. Citizenship to Native Americans living on reservations.

Civil rights replaced natural rights. The latter were designed to restrict government by making its ideological reach untenable, and were paired with a Naturalization Act that demanded only ethnic Western Europeans in the country. Civil rights make government all-powerful.

Charlamagne tha God openly wondered why some Democrats have been actively fighting Trump over the deportation of criminals and gang members.

Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of his radio show The Breakfast Club about the Trump administration’s recent deportation of 250 gang members here in the United States illegally, Charlamagne wondered why the story generates any backlash at all.

“I want to know more when it comes to the deportations, because deporting illegal immigrants who have committed crimes, I understand that,” he said. “So why are folks fighting about gang members being sent away?” Like, there are some other deportation cases, I’m sure they could be fighting about, like folks who’ve been in this country for a long time, not committing no crimes, paying taxes, but have gotten caught up in the process.”

“Those are folks they should be fighting for. Why are they raising hell about a gang being deported?” he added.

The White House said Monday that President Donald Trump, in his social media post stating that the preemptive pardons of January 6 Committee members were “void” and “vacant,” was raising the question of whether or not former President Joe Biden’s signature was “used without his consent or knowledge.”

During a press briefing, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to a question from CNN’s Kaitlan Collins regarding Trump’s post on Sunday night, in which he declared the pardons are “VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen.”

Leavitt said Trump “was begging the question that I think a lot of journalists in this room should be asking about whether or not the former president of the United States — who I think we can all finally agree — was cognitively impaired.”

The administration of President Donald Trump has cut taxpayer-funded grants for transgender experiments on animals, the watchdog White Coat Waste Project (WCW) told Breitbart News exclusively.

Two National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants awarded under the administration of former President Joe Biden — both to Harvard University — were terminated early on March 12, per WCW, a bipartisan government watchdog.

One of the grants, worth $299,940, was titled “Gender-Affirming Testosterone Therapy on Breast Cancer Risk and Treatment Outcomes” and used toward “transmasculine” animal experiments, in which female mice were administered testosterone and had their ovaries removed.

“This proposal will undertake preclinical studies to address breast cancer (BC) risk and treatment concerns of transmasculine people (female-to-male transition),” an abstract of the grant reads, noting that “most transmasculine individuals pursue testosterone therapy (TT) to treat their gender dysphoria.”

“The breast is a sex hormone-sensitive organ. Transmasculine individuals who receive TT are now a subject of concern – very little is known about how such high levels of testosterone affect the breast and subsequently risk of developing BC,” the summary asserts, adding that human studies of this subject are “decades” away.

The “Gender-Affirming Testosterone Therapy […]” grant began in September 2023 and was set to end in August 2025, but Trump’s NIH succeeded in cutting its lifespan short earlier this month. The agency likewise put a stop to a second grant focused on “Molecular Mechanisms of Hormone-Mediated Sex Differences in Wound Healing” that began in September 2024. Per WCW, the $442,444 project was set to receive $2.2 million total through 2029 before Trump’s revamped NIH killed its funding last week.
