Hoarders must have really good room acoustics.

A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The best ones are thoughts that many people can relate to and they find something funny or interesting in regular stuff.
That's not what you want for acoustics...
You're thinking of sound dampening.
Like acoustics make things sound good, it's honestly really complicated and hard to get right.
Having shit everywhere prevents noise from bouncing off things.
The confusion is probably because recording booths are sound dampened. That's not to make the record sound better, it's to isolate everything else so that the mix can be clean and prevent echos.
A good echo is literally what people stereotypically look for to gauge the acoustics of a space.
I guess it partly depends on what all is being hoarded. If by chance it's piles of clothing, then I guess it would double as pretty decent sound dampening.
But if it's a bunch of glass and/or metal stuff, well yeah that wouldn't work very well at all would it?
yeah, but if it's hoarders - it's EVERYTHING.
Trust me on this. We've tried to intervention some relatives repeatedly, their house is a terrifying example of fire hazards X man-trap stacks of:
I can't even begin to fucking deal with this shit from across the country, and their relations in-town have so far failed to get through to them.
I'd say the acoustics would be pretty fucking bad.
Oh, I totally get you. My late father was a hoarder, and a fairly messy one at that ☹️
My late grandparents on his side were antique collectors, fairly well organized at that. It was almost like walking through a mini museum when I'd visit them. But still, they had a lot of shit!
And yes, my late grandmother did have one really creepy room with over 200 porcelain baby dolls!
Very creepy!
I've had to lighten my load by like 95% since they passed away, just way too much stuff!
no just dampening, but diffusion, by one million little things, of different sizes, braking down sound into smaller waves
Yeah, but that's still not good acoustics...
And really, all you just did was go into more detail about what dampening does...
