Yeah. It's just random (relatively) modern piece of tubing that either fell off a boat or was tossed over board.

Cool memory for OP, and they picked up a piece of trash from the ocean.

Anything except blaming her policies because those conservative policies come with a shit ton in donations...

No, because a Utopia is a Utopia for everyone or it's not a Utopia.

What's most ironic is we lost so many votes from Biden that they can't both say this and keep saying that progressives aren't an important wing of the party...

Even tho progressives likely still showed up, the 20% drop was from the least politically active, not the most.

None of the moderate messaging has ever made sense. They just latch onto anything that they think makes them right in the moment, and end up with all these conflicting independent views.

They stopped worrying about truth a long time ago, because no facts or logic can defend their policy choices.

Yep, Dems win by increasing turnout, Republicans win by depressing it.

So Dems campaigning on how great they are wins elections

Dems campaigning on how bad Republicans are only wins sometimes and usually only if the incumbent is a Republican.

Unless we make changes we're gonna switch to rotating every 4 instead of 8, and the moderate Dems allowed to make it to the general will never fix stuff as fast as Republicans can break it.

The current plan just isn't working.

This is what happens when anyone that warns someone is sick gets burnt at the stake as a witch.

When your own party is criticizing the candidate, you need to realize that 17 million more aren't going to put the effort into complaining, they're not going to hold their nose and vote.

They're just gonna stay home.

So when the politically active tries to warn the party, it would behoove the party to listen to it's base.

[-] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 8 points 20 hours ago

Right?

They want progressives to be both a small minority they can ignore, but also 17 million people?!

That would make them 20% of the party...

If 20% of your own party can out message your own campaign, then it's a shit campaign. Even before factoring in the billion plus dollars you compromised the party platform to raise and the fact that the opponent is trump.

We can't keep letting the DNC be the only other option. They're clearly not capable of it.

[-] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 33 points 21 hours ago

DNC:

Have we considered just giving everything to the wealthy anyways?

[-] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 73 points 21 hours ago

We can't fight this shit with ineffectual moderates like Joe Biden.

The whole nation rallied and got him in office and a 50/50 Senate along with the House...

He wasted that for 2 years, then got nothing else down the other 2 years because he lost the House.

America was sold Biden as a way to defeat trump, and it just resulted in a brief pause.

We need to let progressives run the party, they're at least willing to fucking fight.

When a WB executive flat out said they bought CNN to turn it into Faux News for "moderate" Dems, it was time.

When all those CNN journalists resigned over the changes, it was time.

It's still time now, and it'll be time next week too.

It's just fucking frustrating to see people "realize" this over and over for years and act like because they just figured it out, no one else has.

It's not to try and ban porn

It's a way to snoop on all Internet traffic.

Like cops "smelling weed" anytime they want to hassle someone. If they don't like a person, they'll spy on their Internet usage, obviously find some kind of porn, and then make a public spectacle out of to distract from what they're mad at that person for.

They don't care about the crime, they want an excuse to investigate people they don't like.

Say something mean on twitter, and they'll search your IP till they find something they can call porn.

“It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them,” Sanders said in a statement Wednesday. “First, it was the white working class, and now it is Latino and Black workers as well. While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change. And they’re right.”

Dems 100% sold them out and assumed they'd still vote D as long as a handful of issues were different.

The worse the Republicans got, the worse Dems got. Because they could get away with it and it increased donations.

The thing is it just energizes republicans and depresses Dem turnout.

If the goal is winning elections is a terrible strategy.

If you only care about money and the election is just a grift to you tho, it's a win/win. The result of the election doesn't really matter.

The reason it fits this sub, is they already knew this guy was an extremist committing crimes 2 years, long before he started shooting up Dem offices.

The cops just felt it wasnt in the interest of their personal safety to stop him, which lead to him escalating his crimes over the years.

Despite evidence pointing to Kelly as the perpetrator, Weich said law enforcement did not move to arrest him. Weich said that Phoenix police feared that approaching Kelly would pose a threat to their safety. A prosecutor out of the Phoenix City Attorney’s Office declined to pursue charges, Weich said.

Which lead to this:

Kelly was arrested about 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday during a traffic stop. Kelly's attorney Squires said his vehicle was stopped using a grappler that hooked the car from behind. "That is quite shocking to a person who's never had any previous allegations at all," Squires said in court.

Squires said in court the car was then surrounded by more than a dozen law enforcement personnel.

The prosecutor said Kelly had numerous guns in his car, including a machine gun. He did not have his cellphone. Similarly, no cellphone was tracked behind during the shootings at the Democratic office, the prosecutor said. That led authorities to believe he was on his way to "potentially do something," the prosecutor said.

Arkansas voters won’t get to weigh in on a ballot initiative to expand medical marijuana after the state Supreme Court ruled the measure didn’t fully explain what it would do, tossing out the initiative just two weeks before the election.

It’s too late to remove the measure from the ballot — early voting began Monday — so the court has ordered election officials not to count any votes cast on it. The proposed constitutional amendment would have broadened the definition of medical professionals who can certify patients for medical cannabis, expanded qualifying conditions and made medical cannabis cards valid for three years.

India leads the world in generating plastic pollution, producing 10.2 million tons a year (9.3 million metric tons), far more than double the next big-polluting nations, Nigeria and Indonesia. China, often villainized for pollution, ranks fourth but is making tremendous strides in reducing waste, Velis said. Other top plastic polluters are Pakistan, Bangladesh, Russia and Brazil. Those eight nations are responsible for more than half of the globe’s plastic pollution, according to the study’s data.

The United States ranks 90th in plastic pollution with more than 52,500 tons (47,600 metric tons) and the United Kingdom ranks 135th with nearly 5,100 tons (4,600 metric tons), according to the study.
