Someone came up with it. They ran it through a group of people. The told developers to make it. Dozens of people would have been involved in this.

I like you pointing that out. It's honestly so creepy, way more than just thinking about a faceless company. Makes you really think which other stuff they are fine with 😕

Can you imagine those meetings? Was it awkward or was everyone like “haha fuck yeah!” Did anyone oppose it? How far would they go?

There is a kind of person, who when tasked to increase call volume to a suicide hotline, would have no problem increasing the number of suicidal people.
