Hope everyone is doing well and having a good summer!
Running Lemmy is a fun (most of the time) hobby for me, so naturally when I heard about PieFed I wanted to give that a shot, too. I've started a server at https://wetshav.ing/
PieFed is a Lemmy alternative, with additional features that aim to make it easier to moderate, and perhaps aim to make it a nicer place overall.
Decide for yourself if you'd like to try it: https://join.piefed.social/features/
You can apply for an account at https://wetshav.ing/ and I'll approve it ASAP. For now I'm limiting it to usernames that I recognize.
From the features listed alone, it seems like PieFed is ambitious to improve the Fediverse forum idea to a level of the old Reddit experience most of us knew. I kinda wish there was a Fediverse app that would include all of the communities and all content (except that which you block/blacklist/disable yourself) is visible. I like the concept of Matrix, where you sign up to the general service by picking a suitable server, then you can freely choose your app of choice - e.g. people on Element/Element X can still interact with those using FluffyChat. This is vastly different to the usual monopoly a messenger has over its userbase and - IMHO - a great step in the right direction for user friendly applications and processes. Since I want the Fediverse idea to succeed, I will try out PieFed. Since snooting mentioned that it's supported by Voyager, I'll try that. Thanks for your efforts!
