Wow, this cartoon is one of the most accurate reflections of the time. Like I could see people looking at this cartoon in 20 years and thinking "Oh, that was the Trump era."

If the usual system is not working for the common people anymore, they look to the politicians. A lot of the more centric ones say nice things but at the end of the day try to maintain the status quo. Then people go look for the ones that want to overturn the system and arrive at the authoritarian figures.

Of course the guy takes it too far and is kicked out in turn.

Even the ancient Greeks figured these kind of cycles happen.
