I'm getting tired of making generally bad OC (startrek.website)

I've made quite a few posts to /c/risa that are actual OC. I'm either horrible at humor, the timing is bad, or it doesn't work for whatever reason. Extremely low effort memes? Lots of upvotes. If I do high effort stuff that takes an hour or more, I'm just discouraged by the lack of even comments.

So, to tie this all up - is it worth a latinum bar to keep trying to do OC? Do you all even want that (seriously)?

Not to promote inter-instance drama but I believe the founder of that community specifically cited c/Risa deleting their posts as a reason for starting a competing community.

Plus, just reposting your memes at a different time of day on another instance will help get you wider views. The lemmy algorithms are fickle so a little extra self-promo doesn't hurt.
