Also car height.
I've been hit by a car about 20 years ago and I kinda just rolled on top of it and landed behind confused with a few scrapes.
Getting hit by a car whose bumper is about shoulder height is much more likely to kill you.
Don’t worry! We’ll go through the process of revising safety ratings to include people outside the car just for auto manufacturers to switch their advertisements to say “five star passenger safety rating” instead 😀
Safe for who?
Occupants.
I don't care what happens to anyone I hit, as long as I can walk away from rolling my SUV at 200kmh.
Sound selfish
Unfortunately this is how many people think.
Personally I don't drive a large car, don't drive very fast, and try to use public transit as much as possible.
race to the bottom or arms race conditions.
Whoever is allowing this is ensuring that the whole thing will end terribly.
It's not about "american individualism" so much as complete economic capture by a fundamentally unsustainable scam.
Peasants wasting theirs-disposable income on too much car....
Beautiful!
Nahh, big car = big dik
No car = ?
If I'm being honest, I wouldn't let my (future) kids drive a little car. They'd save up enough money to get a shitty little car, and I'd pay the rest to get them a big car. I've seen what happens to little cars in crashes, and if people continue driving the way they do, I'd rather my kid be in a big car rather than a little one (not Western nation).
Fuck Cars
