Android 16 could introduce big multitasking changes by letting you put any app in a floating bubble.

Reinventing the "window" from the 1960s.

meanwhile, i have to figure out how to disable bubbles every major update. Stop putting shit on top of the shit I'm looking at.

Y tho?

I've done split view on purpose like twice ever. The bubble mode and most split view things are an unwelcome accident IMO.

yeah wtf is up with Android recently? seriously, like, how did they not hear that /u/dream_weasel only uses these features twice a year, if at all? get rid of that shit if /u/dream_weasel doesn't use it. Android was made for this one specific guy and we can't even remove split screen and stop dev on the bubble feature for him. Jesus Christ Android. get your shit together. I'm so fucking done. moving to iOS.

8 up zero down yo. Maybe you're using those features, but looks like it's not exactly controversial not using them.

Am i missing something? My samsung s10 from 2019 with android 12 can pop-out a half dozen apps and overlay them, minimize or drag them off screen and leave them running. My edge panel helps me quick launch pop-outs and i've bookmarked common split screens. Is this a samsung feature that is only now coming to android?

No you are not missing anything. Stock Android is so behind in multitasking, it's not even funny.

Man I'm using LineageOS at the moment and multitasking sucks compared to stock OneUI. Samsung has that stuff figured out, and this is a clunky mess in comparison.

Xiaomi's MIUI, for all its faults got it on lock too.
Google should really be doing better (on lots of areas, not only Android)

What the fuck is a bubble? Do they mean like a sandbox?
