Damn I miss Lorca. What a great character. One of Trek's best foils. It's such a shame that they'll probably never revisit the whole Lorca situation.

I honestly think the soft-reboot in season 3 signals that they have no interest in that. There were a lot of really interesting things from DIS season 1 that I don't think the current producers will touch them again after the mixed feedback from fans. Lorca, Ash Tyler, the Klingon internal politics of the 22nd century... There are a lot of interesting plot hooks there, but I can't picture any of them being tugged on given how the Kurtzman shows have evolved.

On one hand, that's a good point. On the other, it's frustrating because none of those interesting plot hooks are what pissed off the fans. After all, everybody loves Klingon internal politics when it's folks like Gowron and Martok instead of a dude with a speech impediment.
