Play

Edit: Also, some of us will only get so good. Partly a natural limitation, partly our own motivation.

Example: I lack the motivation to get better despite my own physical limitations. I've accepted I can't see things as well as other people, not react as fast, and am unwilling to put in the effort to improve those things.

Study how the pros play:

  • What corners they check.
  • What angles they hold.
  • How they breach an objective.
  • What guns & tools they use in different scenarios.
  • How they manage their economy

Yep, came here to say watching tournaments really helps figuring out tactics/calls/what to do and not do.

Even better if you have a group of friends to team up and play with too, with time you get used to each other's strategies and strengths

Spend 10 years playing 1.6. Then spend 10 years playing source. Then spend 5 years playing go/2. Then travel back in time to when you had a good reaction time.

I have not played in like 15 years or something. I used to before I got old and horrible is to just play and learn the muscle reflexes and timing and such. Dedication and repeating is best from when I played it. Often got too ranks in matches when teammates where not idiots.

Also finding people to play with that are trying to get good too, communication with teammates is incredibly important for good playing with teammates

Again I haven't played in 15 years, but I don't things like that really change over time with this type of game

And always remember to have fun and remember it's a video game, it's never and will never be everything in life.

Play more. That's kinda the key.

Play ranked with a constant group of people to also get good.
