I've been gone 30 mins and the other person in my team is already messaging me

reply back with your consulting rates

"The person you are texting is not available. Do not try again later".

[–] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

you are bloody kidding me, right? is this the useless person? Block 'em! and tell their boss "only been gone halfa and they are already messaging me. not a good look for the company but if you need me (and I agree with Seagoon here) I'm happy to adhoc assist at (outrageous consulting fee)"

I have 4-and-a-bit days to make my first official cosplay item. A helmet of sorts.

I was hoping Amazon would provide the goods but they let me down.

So now it's me, a hot glue gun and some supplies from Savers, Bunnings & Spotlight.

The hopes of a 9yo boy are in my barely-capable hands.

Goodnight all! I'm not particularly tired, mostly just done with the day and want to go to bed to kind of retreat into my personal space a bit. Pleasant dreams.

Hahaha. At the other place they were discussing cutlery drawer order. Knives, forks etc. Pffft. That topic was so yesterday. We are trendsetters people.

I am wrecked for today. I have no more going up and down stairs in me.

but this house is so nice

I have views of trees beyond my terrace and out the windows, not walls. It's quiet. It smells nice here. It's big and roomy and easy to live in.

Down the bellarine, forgot the airshow thing was on. One of the planes just broke the sound barrier over the place and holy shit haven't heard / felt that before. Lucky to still have windows.

alright. Van sorted (not cheaply, but sorted). Some of the gear has arrived including some all important poles but a lot of the other essentials (like waterproof mattress protectors to protect bed in the event of a wet packup) are enroute. And the nice to haves (new kettle, sheets, chopping board, dish drainer) are still awaiting shipping dates. Thinking this might be a very bare bones dry run this weekend.

This is a common occurrence lol

Considering the possibility my neighbour (not that one) is a Mech warrior. Their staircase tread is quite something. Feeling like i'm not spending enough time with the cats, we seem to distribute ourselves around this house very differently

I think I nearly got scammed on ebay. Bought some furniture but they had strange messaging, only very late at night

they did not give me the information I wanted to pick it up but demanded codes that would enable them to tell ebay the transaction was completed. I even asked 3 days. No information.

I cancelled and got my money back. Then they send me a message like 2 minutes later and they were very angry.

But they did not lose any money. They still have their items.

the fact they were very angry makes me think that yes, this was a scam. Plus they called me a spammer. yeah, as if spammers pay money.

There's workmen out there. I don't know what they're doing but they've blocked off the street I use. I guess it's the long way around to the shops if I want a sausage roll. Mmm yeah sausage roll.

Less than two weeks of daylight saving left. I'm going to take some evening walks while I can.

Started placement today (kids were on an excursion yesterday) and I still don't really know how to feel. The first lesson was with a CRT who had some science background so she still winged it, but told everyone that I would be teaching with her, even though I'm meant to just be observing. I ended up helping some kids out in the end whilst she attempted to do the teaching. Some of the kids in the class have aspirations like sport and the arts, and instantly act out because they've associated the class with boredom. The biggest thing I took away from today is that just these kids showing up is enough. The school is aware of what these kids want to do, and give them the absolute bare minimum, like a worksheet to fill in to pass the entire unit.

I have to brush up on my content knowledge as well, but that will come when I start planning lessons. I hope.

I've got until next Monday to decide if I want to drop out of the course without financial penalty. I still don't really know, because it's only been one day, but I'm just trusting that things will figure themselves out as they go along.

so 99% of everything here is still in boxes. 6.30 this morning, tired, need brekkie before I go out, grab a meal shake sachet but couldn't find any glasses. Find an empty clean spice jar with lid. Make shake, drink it. That tastes a bit funny. Pretty sure it was dried garlic powder in the jar too. took less than 5 mins to chuck. πŸ™„

i'm a bit better organised now but very sore and tired

I might take a bath πŸ™‚ I bought a peach bath bomb.

Yesterday was a terrible anxiety ridden day that I wish to forget so going for a morning walk before getting stuck into work. It’s perfect out.

A nap went awry and I woke up at 8pm to do cat meds. 😴πŸ₯±

Melbcat went to the vet yesterday and is back on antibiotics because she has another uti starting.

Only light work in the garden was done, water and a spray. I managed to enlarge the drilled holes on the bottom of the bin with an old pair of scissors (the lid can be finished later).

The pumpkins are starting to bud female flowers and I saw a bee visiting the existing male ones. I pulled out the dead 3 zucchini and spared the raggedy final one because it’s still making new growth and trying to flower.

Still pushed myself too hard. I’m now slowly trying to rehydrate because I didn’t drink much yesterday. I had no energy left and kept going back to sleep.

Edit: Melbcat has her cheek on the hot water bottle I made for her tummy… I’m wondering if she’s got a sore tooth or mouth

I have six days off work ahead of me 😁

My plan is to finish my couch cushions, do a bit of tidying in the garden and put out some hard rubbish (including the old cushions) and whatever pottering around and packing takes my fancy. The weather is looking pretty good so I might even go out somewhere. Maybe it's time to do the trip to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens I keep intending to do but never get around to.

Bleahhhh took today off on leave to try and squeeze out the last of uni fieldwork but nope spent most of my time driving, still a long way to go :( as the days progress my results are starting to look more and more sus... the angle of the sun is really messing around with it I think.

Friday looks like my last chance entirely. Another leave day I'll have to burn unless I make up for it next week. No way I'll finish everything. I'll have to do my best to cover as much data as possible. And then the mad, intense, insane 2 months of data processing and WRITING commences. I really ought to book in some kind of treat for the end of the whole damn thing

Electrician has been and gone to get my chandelier down and the old fitting put up. I noticed the movers missed quite a few item. I'll have to go back and pick them up.

the big flock of cockatoos, maybe 200, in has over taken my old block in Carlton the past few weeks

they are chewing up every thing in sight

all the other birds are being driven away

the streets are covered in litter from chewed up trees

I found a feather in my little front yard and brought it home for Bill and Ted

all the train ride the city took the same amount of time as the short tram ride from the city to Carlton

CEO, can't you just buy big jars of sambal oelek for the man. Or isn't that strong enough?

camper is going in for a service today, Starting to think these things are like a BOAT (Bolt On Another Thousand). Roof is mildly leaking, tyres dont look crash hot, and theres some electrical work needing done too. To say nothing of the awning which is falling apart but at least somewhat workable for the moment. Whats the bed this is gonna cost me another fortune.
