Makes one wonder how sheinbaum made it through an election without getting killed.
A serious presidential candidate can access better personal protection than a local mayor.
Local politicians throughout the world are more vulnerable and are attacked more than high ranking politicians in absolute numbers. Whether the same holds true in relative numbers i dont know right now as there is of course many more mayors than presidents.
That makes sense.

I don't really understand the reasoning for all these murders, any politicians who aren't in their pocket get killed? To weaken the state? Or to make other politicians afraid so they don't fuck with the cartels?
Fuck the cartels!
It's a fine line between Bukele and Trudeau but Seinbaum must unfortunately walk it. Democracy must be defended.
