I spent a lot of summer vacations in Michigan. There are multiple drownings every year for various reasons like low tide rock strikes or rip tides. Many victims are great swimmers. Most are high school students.
Its very sad.
A lightweight news hub to help decentralize the fediverse load: mirror and discuss headlines here so the giant instance communities aren’t a single choke-point.

Why is that news?
Because it’s a “newly received information, especially about recent events”
So it only barely technically qualifies and you can't justify squat. Yeah seems about right.
That's literally what news means. Something happened, here's what we know. Why so hostile?
So a cat in a tree is news as well then.
And an orchard producing 3 fewer batches of apples than last year.
And a slightly windier season.
🙄
Yes, minor news, but yes. That is how words work
Ok and? Natural selection at play. Good. Less idiots in the future.
While I generally agree with the sentiment, there are definitely nicer ways to share them. Also, being an idiot as a teen doesn't equal being an idiot as an adult.
It was still a kid.
