If it works, it isn't stupid.

This is peak hardware. Ive been wanting to do something like this with an ATX PC by just screwing all the parts into a metal or wooden sheet.

Thank you 😊

Is that antenna being ran through the wall or just placed up high for optimal performance? Either way, genius engineering at work here. This person clearly cares about minimalism and optimal performance.

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 6 points 16 hours ago

Just taped to the wall, I'm not even sure it is an antenna..... I'll find out when I turn it on.

It takes up much less space than putting that ugly laptop on my desk.

(My desk in a clean state)

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 9 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Why are you living like this?

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago) (1 children)

Uhm, it's not even that bad. It's the clean state. Usually I can't use the desk at all. Also, because I have to sleep 15 hours a day. There's not much time left to clean up, when you add school and appointments.

[–] Kit@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

That's a concerning situation. You might want to reach out to parents or friends to get you some help with cleaning. From the picture it looks concerningly dirty and messy - empty bottles, things on the floor, etc.

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 13 hours ago

It's just my lifestyle, there's no food or drinks anywhere on the floor or something like that. I also have very little space, and the things on the floor literally have no other space to be.

They're all empty... Except for a few "Linux ISOs""

[–] frankenswine@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

if it looks stupid bit werks, is not stupid

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 16 hours ago

I'm not sure if it works yet

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 4 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

At least get someone with a 3d printer to make you some mounts or use command strips.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Because duct tape will degrade quickly and either you will be left with the machine on the floor or a sticky mess everywhere.

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 13 hours ago

I'll just tape over it every few months

[–] Blue_Morpho@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Why is the star picture mounted at an angle on the wall?

[–] urheber@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 13 hours ago
