What the fuck is wrong with the Tesla board that they are offering this instead of condemning the asshole?

They're all Musk toadies. The sane have either been fired or quit and now all that are the true believers in the "Musk the genius" myth or dead eyed grifters (although I'll admit, I don't see how that group will make money off of this).

He’s just cleaning the coffer before they go belly up.

My bet is that they shut down and basically everyone’s Tesla just stops working

The package is stock. Given that he's stated himself the stock is already overvalued my bet is he's gambling on hyperinflation destroying the USD.

Inflation hits, his cash is in crypto and he doubles his stake in Tesla.

Kinda excited by the promise of Optimus though, as well as robotaxis, we'll be witness to the largest increase in productivity that humanity ever lived through, perhaps that our working hours will even be halved in a few decades, and most mindless and/or back-breaking jobs would disappear. The future never ceases to be ahead.
All androids would be chinese without E.Musk, the p.r.c. truly is a leader in technology and it's only the beginning, but socialism never work because the state can't guide the economy, investments should be left to capitalists, etc. Fortunately we're allowing the chinese experiment to see where we're wrong(, and our western experiment certainly taught them a few things as well), they proved that our system isn't 100% perfect, which is a useful data.

(Being united in diversity, including with a world army and an efficient international tribunal, would mean that it'd be pointless to conspire against someone else, such system would/should be the goal i.m.o.)
