For the life of me, I have no idea how he ever managed to convince Latino voters to support him in the 1st place.

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Latino culture is just very conservative by nature. There's a lot of factors, religion, (family) education, traditions and just how their communities operate. It's more telling that Trump literally has to threaten deportation or extermination to get them to break ranks than his rhetoric for the past decade, let alone prior to that. If Latinos didn't have brown skin they'd be the model republican. And somehow that drives the power center of the party up a fucking wall thanks to their racist views.

[–] ronigami@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago (2 children)

None of that should matter if you have and use a brain.

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

You remember we are talking about conservatives, who are conditioned to shut off their brain, avoid any critical thinking and take what ever "good" people tell them as though it were gospel.

Latino guys in trucks working blue collar jobs feel more like white Republican guys to them than liberal democrats. Only problem is that the gop doesn't think that.

Chickens for McNuggets. The first rule of immigration is shit all over other immigrants.

Any Latino who voted for Trump fucking deserves anything they're getting now. It's not like he didn't tell them exactly how he feels about them for the past decade of American politics.

I told my Mexican brother and wife that I'm going to laugh so hard at them when they eventually get deported, despite both being second generation Americans.

I love my brother but he married a racist piece of shit and is being influenced by her loud, obnoxious ass; I hope they both get what they voted for. Personally I'm not worried about myself because I'm light-skinned, have a white last name, and was raised white by my Polish dad, so I look and act white (brother and sister-in-law are very brown). Only other Mexicans can recognize my mixed race I've noticed.

[–] Mamdani_Da_Savior@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I remember I would tell my dad over and over again "I hope you get everything your voting for, I hope you get the tarriffs, I hope you get the mass deportations, I hope Trump cuts interest rates to 0% causing inflation to skyrocket, I hope Trump cleans out the federal govt, I hope he does everything he says he's going do cause America needs to learn its fucking lesson"

I stand by everything I said.

America will learn nothing and millions of underprivileged will suffer enormously.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 28 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Should've been zero to begin with

[–] MDCCCLV@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

This is net approval, 0 is a good number to have.

[–] matlag@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 days ago

1.This soon won't matter since the plan is to purge the country of anyone vaguely looking latino. Remember the "homebrew" comment on El Salvador's prison expansion?

2.What kinds of latinos were supporting Trump? You can speculate. At least we know what kind was not supporting him: "Smart people don't like me!".

[–] Jaysyn@lemmy.world 24 points 6 days ago (2 children)

And this is why Trump is going to create an emergency or declare war before the 2026 elections.

Just now? Slow on the uptake

...now that it doesn't matter what is approval is.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

Little late now, assholes.

[–] lemmylump@lemmy.world 14 points 6 days ago (5 children)

To all you Latino voters that voted for this pile of shit, especially you Cuban Americans in Florida that should 100% know better..

Fuck you and feed the leopard.

Like sheep voting for a wolf. I mean he told them to their face " I hate you, you are not human, you are lower than dirt, and I will come after all of you"

I dunno, I probably wouldn't have voted for the guy.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 8 points 6 days ago

The leopards be feasting

[–] Professorozone@lemmy.world 12 points 6 days ago (1 children)

This just tells us they are just as stupid as whites. They could have seen this coming as easily as whites.

50% of both groups have below average intelligence.

[–] W3dd1e@lemmy.zip 11 points 6 days ago

Only -11 points? Thats all?

[–] ChetManly@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago

Too little too late

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 8 points 6 days ago

It was wild how high it was to begin with. I used to work with such a dude. His parents came illegally but he was a citizen and would basically say "fuck you, I got mine" about all the "wetbacks" coming in. Working with that guy felt like being in the Clayton Bigsby skit from Chapelle Show.

Until he and his entire administration is dead and gone, this really doesn't matter.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

Didn't a whole bunch of Latino voters throw their support behind him?

Somewhat of a "chickens for KFC" moment there, eh?

[–] SereneSadie@lemmy.myserv.one 6 points 6 days ago

Crocodile tears.
