Harris calling Trump incompetent is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.

[–] TacoButtPlug@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 hours ago

It would make all of this horribleness somewhat amusing if Trump imprisoned Kamala and Genocide Joe.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

It's not a great admission to say you've lost to an incompetent buffoon. Should've fought when the fight was on.

[–] themeatbridge@lemmy.world 54 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Everything she said is true, but also, she was one of the architects of the Democrats' failed strategy to beat Trump. So this feels like she's trying to acknowledge that she was wrong without actually taking responsibility for being wrong.

[–] ChicoSuave@lemmy.world 10 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

I need to hear her say she was wrong. The most infuriating thing about corpo Dems is that they never admit they fucked up or suck. They never say "I was the architect of this disaster" to show that they learned. The first lesson of rehabilitation is admitting you are the problem.

Without a corporate Dem saying they made the mistake, they haven't rehabilitated. They haven't changed.

Narcissism and politics go together like peanuts and peanut butter. Self-awareness is a liability, because you have to promise the moon and the stars to every voter, (ideally) knowing that you aren't going to ever have the actual power to deliver on any of those promises.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world -1 points 5 hours ago

No sane politician admits fault. Human's are unforgiving at scale. Saying you were wrong is meat for your opposition. Imagine a sound bit stamping on your neck, forever.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 19 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

I doubt she even knows what she did wrong

[–] BlackJerseyGiant@lemmy.world 12 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

I would posit that they didn't screw up, but in fact the election went just the way the Dems wanted it to. The two party system and electoral college are a puppet show, with Democrats playing Bread, and the Republicans Circuses, while both advance the cause of whomever has the most money.

I call bullshit for one and only one reason: never, ever, have these people demonstrated the competence to execute such an intricate plan. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m just saying that these jokers have never shown that they are capable of doing such a thing. Regardless of whatever motivation you might be able to uncover, I simply don’t find it a credible claim that they’re capable of this kind of unity of purpose and brilliance in their execution.

The bag of idiots we have running the Democratic Party at the moment, simply could not pull this shit off. At the very least, someone would blab as a brag or something like that.

[–] BlackJerseyGiant@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

I wholeheartedly agree that they're all idiots. The people hired by the people with $$ however, are not. The thinking comes from those despicable employees, and the two party system just does what they're told to do. They brag about it all the time, and more and more often as their grip on power consolidates. See Satanyahoo's comments on the TikTok buy.

There is a reason the laws passed in America have only around a 10% relationship with the will of the people, and it goes far beyond the dog and pony show that you and so many others are captivated with.

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

They have shown an ability to pull off such a plan. Just run a leftist for president and see how many primary elections get screwed with.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

I get where you’re coming from, but I gotta say – – that is not the Democratic Party. In fact, they institutionally fight against such things.

What you’re describing is individual and independent progressive politicians – and that’s fucking awesome. It’s the future of the left in mainstream politics. And the Democratic Party can either adopt this philosophy, or be swept aside. Democrats, as voters, would widely benefit from more progressive policies, however, those who administer and run the DNC have been bought out by private interests and big money, so they no longer serve the people they continuously ensure their power simply because they think they will win by appeasing their billionaire donors by appealing to an imaginary and nonexistent “center”.

It’s time to shake shit up

It was time to shake shit up back in 2016 when they brought in DWS to ensure that no shaking could occur. I'm not holding my breath.

[–] blave@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Welcome to the ship of discontent

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 37 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

This implies fighting him by being equally incompetent and unhinged.

[–] Cassanderer@thelemmy.club 13 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Done and done by dnc. They are nothing if not incompetent. Unhinged too in a way where they play to a mythical Center that doesn't exist while winking at the rich as everything ratchets towards them. Seriously fuck the DNC.

[–] BlackJerseyGiant@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago

We need proportional representation, so this reply gets voted to the top!

[–] Kayday@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

Very on brand for her

[–] KelvarCherry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 18 points 16 hours ago (3 children)

Couldn't care less what the dishonorable former VP says. She bears a fair bit of the fault for doing this to us, and I think we would all be wise to give DNC-cherished figures like Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as little attention as possible. Definitely don't attend her book tours unless you're going to protest.

[–] nightofmichelinstars@sopuli.xyz 2 points 14 hours ago

Don't protest, it's a waste. She's out of power and it would just be good for her sales. Let her drift into the footnotes.

[–] Isa@feddit.org 2 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

She bears a fair bit of the fault for doing this to us

Really? Did she? She made so many US citizens vote for Trump instead? I wonder how she managed that!

(It must be a very, err… peaceful life, if it's always other peoples fault when things go wrong, I assume?)

[–] KelvarCherry@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 49 minutes ago* (last edited 46 minutes ago)

As the only capable opposition to Trump, yes, she and Joe Biden (who went back on his promise of being a single term president) and the DNC leadership are all at fault. It is their job to run a political campaign. They claim to be the party of the working class, yet remained comfortably nestled in the pocket of big corporations and AIPAC.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 7 points 12 hours ago

She made so many US citizens stay home that she lost, yes

Voters can not be held responsible for a candidate losing. It's on the candidate, sorry

In a representative democracy the space she had taken up would have been much better spent on a reall opposition canidate to the Republicans.

Whine if it makes you feel better, Kamala lost because she is less electable than Trump, the DNC understood this and that's why they ran her instead of a leftist, and even blocked her from being progressive in any way.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 6 points 13 hours ago

I also wonder why some people will take every opportunity to smear anyone even slightly to the left of fascist.

Wait, no I don't.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world -1 points 12 hours ago

She bears a fair bit of the fault for doing this to us

This is so insane.

[–] mrdown@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago

Yes he is incompetant and unhinged but i don't want to hear it from another incompetant and unhinged person

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

waaahhhh the Democrats did this to us

[–] optissima@lemmy.ml 3 points 16 hours ago

A recommendation by a wet rag of an individual. She needs to go read her fathers work.
