Not too bad being at another site for the morning, got to catch up with people I used to work with and it was a lot quieter there.

I've come back and also managed to get a handful of I think cherry tomatos to add to my dinner sandwiches, I hope they taste nice.

Come on end of the day, hurry up!

Someone inquired about the shows we were watching yesterday and while Iโ€™m more inclined to watch movies, I can recommend a doco called โ€œThe Greatest Night in Pop.โ€

Released last month, itโ€™s Lionel Richieโ€™s narration along with video footage of the โ€œWe are the Worldโ€ recording session.โ€ Proceeds of the recording going to African famine relief in 1985.

Aside from the fact that, in a single room, so many legendary musicians were able to be corralled on a single (long) night, the interesting part was how humbled everyone became. The egoโ€™s must have deflated a bit that night. Bob Dylan looking shit scared haha. And Steve Perryโ€ฆI forgot that man can really belt it.

They worked all through the night to get it done with Bruce Springsteen adding some finishing vocals at around 7 or 8 in the morning.

I was even prompted to read old Rolling Stone articles about it the next day for additional story and context .

Bang On raved about this as well.

I watched first episode of Constellation starting Naomi Rapace. Honestly it's already annoying me with it's vagueness and attempt at being overly mysterious. Like you need to give us at least some sugar for us to maintain interest.

[-] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 3 points 9 months ago

I'll look into that. Thanks.

If we're going down the nostalgia route I'd like to add the 4 part series on Curse Of The Chippendales on 7 plus. Had it not been for a couple of murders it would have been quite comical. Don't worry there's no doodlige just big hair and arse cheeks.

[-] useless_modern_god@aussie.zone 3 points 9 months ago

Oh I donโ€™t mind doodlige at all and thanks Iโ€™ll check it out.

Can anyone explain to me why train aircon only seems to turn on half way through a journey? And it's a metro thing. Never noticed it on a vline.

[-] TinyBreak@aussie.zone 3 points 9 months ago

got on a metro monday morning and it was stifling. so hot and humid. It got better about 1/4 of the way in. best guess AC doesnt work well unless the train is moving.

Just tried out Spotify's new AI DJ feature. It started out pretty well.. I like the idea of the Ice-T sounding AI guy coming in to have a little chat and shuffle the music around. It first played 3 tracks from artists I like.. then he comes back and says "Now I'll mix things up with some of the latest hits" and starts playing fuckin Salena Gomez, Taylor Swift and some Ed Sheeran sounding guy I've never heard of. NOPE.

Also, out of curiosity I let the Taylor Swift song play for a bit because I hadn't heard any of her songs since Shake It Off and wanted to see what the big deal was. It was a song called Cruel Summer and it was some of the most generic pop ever. I'm not going to sit here and judge her whole catalogue off 45 seconds of 1 song though but if it's more like that, I'm not missing out on much.
