Lately, whenever I'm in a squad split up 2x2, if I get reinforced away from my battle buddy, I'll just Leroy Jenkins myself into a group of baddies holding a primed Eagle Airstrike.

"Oh I'm over here now? That must mean we need a 380, right?"

I WILL go back for my stuff. I'm going on an adventure while you guys try to launch an ICBM.

I think it's just a lack of game sense. For a while, my dumbass brother would just immediately reinforce anyone he saw dead - and would just chuck the beacon as far as he could in whatever direction he was facing.

[-] Badeendje@lemmy.world 11 points 6 months ago

Hehehe.. yeah. I think we where all like this once.

It's just annoying that your buddy is reinforcing you only to be reinforced a fraction of a second earlier by the nobhead on the other side of the map.

My group used to be like this too, now we call out where we want to be reinforced to, and the person reinforcing casually ignores that request and drops the reinforce pod on the nearest bile titan.

[-] jballs@sh.itjust.works 2 points 5 months ago

Smashing bile titans with your hellpod is definitely one of the cooler game mechanics, so I'll give that a pass.

Because you're doing the objective, and the toddlers are doing some crazy s*** in the middle of nowhere. And they die. This is how you get them to focus on the objective. You spawn them near it....

Hahahaha too true... sometimes I'm one of those going like "oooh, shiny illegal broadcast over there"

[-] Guy_Fieris_Hair@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

I USUALLY wait for someone near where they were at to reinforce them, if it has been an absurdly long time I will do it and throw them as far as I can in the direction they were. However, if I am with a bunch of noobs that are off doing random shit and dying and we are getting short on reinforcements or time, I will bounce their beacon straight off the objective. A little tactical teleportation usually gets things back on track. Somebody's got to rally the troops.

Not everyone is a baby about it.

[-] MishMash@lemm.ee 10 points 6 months ago

Especially when my SAMPLES are there too. Had it happen yesterday when they call in extraction so I had no time to run back and get them.

[-] JDPoZ@lemmy.world 6 points 6 months ago

Never me anymore because I main the anti-tank and usually something not super necessary backpack-wise and the anti-tank cooldown is 1 minute… so I litter those things all over the map like I’m leaving emergency heavy-enemy crushing weapons for my Helldiving homies.

[-] lepinkainen@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

This is the way.

[-] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago

When you get auto reinforced just off the edge of the pelican landing platform and the path back up is impossi to traverse without it timing out.

[-] Grobmobularb@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

And you still have a 4 minute cooldown on them

[-] Covoid@lemm.ee 3 points 6 months ago

AND MY SAMPLES. I'm going back for that shit
