Just one thing to add, people freaking out is extremely uncommon. I haven't even heard about a case IRL, even for trans people it isn't something that tends to happen.

Don't be afraid to just guess when you are unsure, you can always ask though and at least for younger generations it isn't seen as weird or unpolite to do so

I sure love it when people use a single opinion to smear a person's entire legacy, he was great not only for the tech stuff but his stance on scientific articles piracy and a lot of other stuff too.

I won't say that that his opinion on cp is a great one (there is no doubt at least for me that distribution should always be illegal), but he wrote it as a 16 years old and it was guided due to his extremism for free speech over the internet, regardless, it's not like he himself was an evil person distributing child pornography, to paint him as an overall shitty person for an opinion like this seems idiotic imo

This is q bit personal and maybe slightly unrelated, but it reminds me of when people defend non-offending pedos (as in they are attracted to children because yhey are born that way but have not offended, nor groomed, nor harmed a child) saying the stigma should be erased because that would allow us to actually help this people who constantly hide it, therefore reducing the harm to children. This position has unironically got me called a pedophile and a lot of horrible stuff over the internet, and I would draw parallels to this situation, no matter how you slice it this opinion should not be used singlehandedly to state he is someone that shouldn't be respected. Especially since he is not defending the harm itself being done to children (as in the production of CP) which would still be a crime under his view. (Although distribution of course grows the market so it's idiotic not to go after that too), but as I said, it's a bad opinion but that doesn't make him a bad person.

For me its the one that promoted me to write this, the futurama quote "you're are technically correct, the best kind of correct"

I hate how people use it over at forums, it is repeated ad nauseam, even if it doesn't make much sense. It's probably from people using it constantly that I hate the quote, and not something that has to do with the meaning.

I must say, in retrospect it kind of seems obvious, but this has somehow blown my mind

No clue if this community allows for links, but I just checked on nyaa.si and if you search by leechers, the second result is an 189 gb file with seasons 1 to 19

As an aside note, I don't like when OP's don't interact with the posts they make. Especially on posts like this it would have really interesting to gain more insight on where he was coming from or if the replies are making sense in his mind.

I'm probably reading too much into this, there are many reasons not to reply, but when I see a popular post that has 0 replies by OP I feel there's dishonesty.

"so I can still get the health benefits from it"

Seriously, you aren't getting healt benefits. You might feel better but that is the nicotine, it's a psychological effect not something that is improving your physical health in any discernable way.

Just understand, people don't smoke because it's good for their bodies, people smoke because it feels good, it's an important distinction.

Seems reasonable, but reddit should still be able to delete those posts and comments from privated subreddits if requested to

Also forgot to say, READ THE RULES ON THE SIDEBAR, this is not a support community, your post breaks the rules. If you have future questions regarding the site post them in any of the appropriate communities, this one is for open ended questions in a similar way to r/AskReddit

Yes, I discussed with an andrew tate fan that asked "why do people get angry when I don't respect pronouns of trans people" or something to that effect, a real shit stain but I think he got banned after a few hours

So I downloaded the extension and started creating events, but I noticed the notes created appear in the general graph but are all disconnected, is there a way to make the plug in add a tag automatically to the notes it creates?

Alternatively, another way would be to add a template to all notes created or put into a folder so that the tag is inserted, is there any way to do this using any plug in?

I just want all my calendar notes to have a central connection so that they don't disperse.

Any solution is appreciated even if its different to what Im asking for as long as it links everything (or makes them all disappear from the graph)

Not necessarily, although YouTube shorts may be it's own thing in terms of algorithm I frequently see andrew tate, ben shapiro, jordan peterdon clips despite disliking and inmediatly scrolling past when I see their faces. Also I have encountered a lot of anti feminism content of the likes of 2014 this year, where someone is seen mocking "feminists" making what seems like stupid remark and getting owned with some sigma face meme from the american psycho guy and music.

it has been the case multiple times that the YouTube algorithm makes weird connections which often lead to right wing channels being promoted. Or sometimes an entire subsection of creatores are libked with the alt right without being direct (the old atheism sphere, gaming channels are common ones too)

What a weird way to go out, yesterday the owner was talking about how to proceed in the future and apologized for having to block an instance

50

Is it possible or does it present difficulties with federation?

I'm asking because today Vlemmy seems dead and people are speculating it has something to do with losing the domain name. So I want to know if there is a possibility the same server could come up again under a different domain but keeping the same accounts and content stored or if they will need to set up a new server and thus it's just better to move on to another instance.
