I think we'll need to add another section to the megathread

I've decided to try out some games I don't know if i want to pay for yet, so i went to the megathread and it suggested Game Bounty. Whenever I go to download a game on their website, I get redirected to filecrypt. Whenever I press a button, it redirects me to a random website that wants me to click some button. When I left/right click anywhere, it directs me to some crazy long aliexpress link. What the hell is going on? https://imgur.com/a/gl9oEHZ https://imgur.com/a/KYrZNQj

So I have a Synology server that I have a good deal of experience with, so this post will be through that lens.

What I'd like to do is set up a Raspberry Pi exclusively for pirating. So Qbittorrent and Proton VPN to get started, later Radarr, Lidarr, etc. I don't think I'll have a problem getting the Pi up and running, but I'd like to run it like my server, tucked away somewhere without a monitor or peripherals.

How do I access it? For my Synology box, I just put in a browser the local ip port 5000 and I have a whole desktop right there. But when I google about how I'd access a Pi, everything points to using SSH. I know a lot of people have Pis set up like this and surely they can't be administering the whole thing through CLI, right? How do I get a similar setup to my Synology such that I can just get a desktop interface in a browser?

How can I do this. Happy to use their API if that is easier to gain access to the paywalled info. Any help would be appreciated.

""I think it's super hard for a gamer," Ullmann tells Rock Paper Shotgun. "I'm a gamer myself, and therefore I know what I'm talking about. I think it's super hard to see, as a gamer, what is the immediate benefit for me that a certain game developer, game publisher, is using our anti-piracy services." This gap, coupled with the fact that Denuvo "simply works" and "pirates cannot play games" which use it, as Ullmann puts it, are two main contributors to its negative reputation, he argues."

Let's not forget about being always-online or not being able to test different wine/Proton setups for fear of activating the DRM. Or even trying simply to run the game in some situations...

Yeah, so as in the title, these things cost. A lot. Do you know aby forum that shares accounts or bypasses limits of free plans.

How secure is it using Calibres share option? will my ISB be able to see the books that I have shared? Has anyone used it personally? If you have what are the ways that you use it? I hear that people use it to transfer to their kindles. Just want to make sure I wont be shooting myself in the foot

Experience with Autobrr? (sh.itjust.works)

I’m strugling a bit making it work as intended.
I set it up to push straight to Sonarr/Radarr and it works, but my ratio on everything is still bad. I’m guessing something is taking time, making me lose out on the initial swarm.

My connection is wired Gbit.

It’s not really a problem as I seed forever and have a great ratio, but I still want it to function or at least understand why it doesn’t.

Appreciate any advice!

Deezer ARLs not working (midwest.social)

I use the Firehawk site, but whenever I enter an ARL (premium/family) it tells me I can't log into deemix-gui. Anybody have a solution or idea why this happens?

And why was it only after you realized your Golden Girls directory ballooned past 200GB?

The ESA, which represents several major gaming companies, has shared an updated list of notorious piracy threats with the U.S. Government. One of the notable newcomers is FitGirl-Repacks, which has been a dominant player in the game piracy landscape for years. Meanwhile, ESA's report no longer mentions malware, cryptocurrencies, or Scene release groups, which were previously seen as 'growing trends'.

Seems strange that the dev seems to be keeping quiet on this, no? I'm not telling you to read every comment of every post, you can just skim the post titles. Then you'll see multiple open issues and a few closed issues too going back 5 days to the latest BtS update.

Though I haven't followed this project long enough to tell if this is just the way they normally behave.

Edit:

I'm back at my computer, so it's easier to edit and add info now.

Some key points that have stuck out to me:

  • Previous version released in July only triggers 2 detections on Windows defender versus 29 for the most recent version: https://i.imgur.com/GIoH7eG.png

  • Users getting constantly pestered to update to the latest version: https://i.imgur.com/Oege3kU.png

  • Yeah, naturally, the dev is going to say it's a false positive. Obviously. I've only mentioned that the dev has previously responded because some people barely skimmed through the issues and thought the dev simply hadn't seen the latest open issue from only a few hours ago, when that is not the case.
