Just started our kombucha journey this year and our cherry tree was super productive so we blended some and added it to the second ferment. Turned out super good! It's good to be here, already seeing some recipes we're excited to try. Any good tea recommendations? We'd love any decaf/no-caf tea recommendations people have.

I recently brewed my first batch of kombucha, and it turned out great, but I was disappointed with the yield. I took the new scoby, transfered it and some kombucha to a new jar, and filled it with more tea. My original jar looks very healthy and happy, but my new jar looks strange. Is this normal, or should I throw it out and start again?

This is the original, healthy batch for comparison.

The study indicates that daily consumption of acetic acid (what gives kumbucha that tart tang) was shown to improve depressive symptoms and weight loss. The sample cohort is small, but it's a good sign that it might have a powerful effect! More study needed for sure.

Second batch I grew from a store bought kombucha. First was too sour by the time the pellicle grew so I just used it for starter.

Used raspberries + mint for 2F, came out way better than I ever expected. Promised to post here when I did my first ever brew! Thank you all for motivating me with all your pictures. :)

I added the strawberry popping boba into the glass for fun

Its Mullberry season, first time trying it. Really happy with how it turned out. I forgot about it for an extra few days and it generated lots of carbonation.

Perfect with a slight sweetness, some crispness, and an even smaller hint of tartness in the background

Tastes like autumn.

Delicious and more tart than some of my previous kombucha batches due to longer f1.

Also the most difficult one I've made.

Juicy, sweet, not overly bubbly.

This was my first time trying my kombucha without adding any fruit/extracts/anything and going into the carbonation phase. It tasted very juicy and delicious, i honestly didn't think it would be all that good or interesting. I think i liked it due to how sweet it was.

A small bottle of buch with fresh raspberries for flavor. Brewed it in a 3.5gal jug, then transferred into 1L bottle for secondary ferment with the berries

I just brewed my first batch and I am so excited for this to be my new hobby. I'd love to hear some first hand knowledge anyone has built up.

Hidyho.

A few months ago I was watching a YouTube video of a woman bottling her kombucha. She had bottlecaps that would bulge when the carbonation was just right.

I looked for those tonight via searching on Google but couldn't really find the right thing.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

This would be perfect for my kombucha and water kefir tester bottles.

Just discovered there is a community around this. Excited to see this and would love to give Kombucha brewing (?) a go.

Do you have any tips / recipes for a beginner like me to get started?
