@newpipe It would be really nice if when the app fails to update one or more channels from ones subscription list that it would be possible to see which channels failed. I currently have two out of well over a hundred that never manages to update but I have no idea which ones from my list it is.

Seit ein paar Tagen lässt sich #YouTube nun auch in Deutschland nicht mehr mit #Werbeblocker verwenden.

Ich habe deshalb mal etwas recherchiert und habe mir nun fürs #Android #Smartphone das alternative #Frontend @newpipe installiert.

I check in for the first time in a few hours and I've noticed @newpipe is retooting up a storm thanks to YouTube.

Auch deswegen nutze ich YouTube nicht direkt, sondern Links über @invidious* oder nutze es mobil via @newpipe*, um Videos zu sehen und so weit frei vom Tracking zu sein. Leider sind noch nicht sehr viele anregende Videoproduktionen im Fediverse zB auf @peertube vertreten.

This app on Apple's app store is using NewPipe's name and logo but doesn't seem to have any other connections with the real NewPipe.

Is this a real NewPipe client for iOS or not? If not, are they allowed to do that?

Sometimes NewPipe when switching to another app it will buffer the stream again, and when I re enter NewPipe it buffers again. Does anyone here know why it does that?

When I try to watch a video or update the channels on wifi I have to wait several minutes for things to load, but when I turn off the wifi and turn on the 4G I can use it with no problems (updating the channels and watching videos are very fast).

What can I do to fix this?

@newpipe pardon me, but i want to know the difference between New Pipe and New Pipe nightly. I'm a bit confused.

PR #9182 has now been merged, adding support for channel tabs in NewPipe. This feature is now available for testing in nightly-78 and onwards.

hope you are well. Just wondering, of you habe a tip for me. I'm following a the Channel with some live stream content. On YT it's Lister under the Tab "live" and not in the main video list.
In #Newpipe it's not listed inmy subscription either. I need to specifically search for it, to find it.
Is there a way, to see is in my subscriptions and within the channels video list.

I've been trying to venture into using PeerTube more -- as a watcher. But, so far, I haven't seen how to 'explore' for different videos.

What is the default sort order of the videos from Peertube instances?

And, is there a way of pooling of the videos from different instances?

I was gonna submit a pull request, but I see they say no new feature request rn with big changes coming.

Just wanting to throw out there my wish for a new feature.

I like the current ability to switch from video to audio, so would like that to stay the same

But I'd love to be able to set it to a default codec option for each.

It's a pain to have to always have to switch it to those free as in freedom codecs everytime

The issue happened because YouTube is removing the effectiveness of the previous workaround (i.e. using player parameters of Stories and the start of the Shorts ones) used to get streams from the Android client.

warning Like for the previous workaround, the new one used (which, at the moment of publishing the release, is the only known one) to fix the issue can break at any time.

Is there an option to auto mute videos by default?

Sort of random, but some videos stop about a minute in. The bug symbol appears at the top of my phone. Fix: close and reopen newpipe and all is good until it happens again. Bug reports a network error when this happens. Happened at home and work, two different networks.

I'm just getting into NewPipe. It seems great, except there's one feature that I'm really missing from the official YT app.

I was able to subscribe to a playlist, and that's working great. But, if instead of hitting "Play All" you just pick one of the videos from the playlist, it doesn't have the rest of the playlist queued up next, it just plays the one video and then whatever algorithmic stuff comes up next. I want it to have the remaining playlist in the queue next.

When you have a playlist on youtube, if you click one in the middle, it's like you just started the playlist from there.

When you have a playlist in NewPipe, if you click one in the middle, it just plays the one video and then wanders off.

Any way to affect this? I've dug through the settings, but I'm hoping I just missed it.
