This watch has been in my family for a while, and its story is pretty classic. I'm Finnish, and a branch of my family tree ended up migrating to the US in the 19th century. Some eventually came back, and one who had been a train dispatcher brought this watch with him.

I just had it repaired and cleaned, so now it runs perfectly again and looks great.

I just got a preorder watch, the Moonglow C1 from Christopher Ward. It has a large moon phase complication, and the date is indicated by a red notch on the outer ring. It feels like a perfect weight on my wrist, and the bracelet is nicer than you'd expect.

Kanro on the weekend (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Sharing the Grand Seiko SBGE271 “Kanro”. An underrated member of the Seasons collection, this model features the popular Iwao-pattern dial in black.

Like most GS models, they are exceedingly difficult to photograph and way more stunning in person!

The watch walks the line between dress and sport. It wears surprisingly smaller and lighter than the dimensions imply, despite being a steel model.

Although to be fair that might be my bias from the monstrosity I’ve been wearing.. maybe for a future post 😉.

Attempting to start adding content here!

Grand Seiko Japan-market prices are increasing for all models. This is part of a long trend of Seiko/GS moving upmarket.

Additionally, it’s been an open secret that you can literally buy a round trip ticket to Japan and buy a Grand Seiko there for less than a US dealer.

This is due to the very weak JPY right now, and GS probably doesn’t like it.

If you’ve been fence-sitting about importing one from Japan, prices change on April 4!

Nezumi owners? (dmv.social)
submitted 7 months ago by neptune@dmv.social to c/watches@lemmy.ml

Just curious if anyone of you own any Nezumi watches. How are they? Worth the money? Etc

Was eyeing their GMT as I want a GMT and it fits my style and price range.

Enough of this “let me look at my phone to see what time it is, ooooh, 12 new messages” thing. Here we go.

What's your opinion on hydro modding? I just picked up some silicone oil (slightly more viscous than commonly recommended, but I think it will be fine) to hydro mod my casio digital watches (F91W, A168WA).

Back in Australia from my 3 week Japan holiday, here are some more photos of that Pokemon watch I found (more details in the Original post here)

I wasnt happy with the photo quality in the original post, so here are some better ones:

Just a note, I pulled the watch crown out in these photos, its not typically that far out.

Watches on Lemmy (reddthat.com)

Left Reddit last year after all the nonsense. Never looking back but I sure do miss the r/Watches subreddit. What are you other Reddit refugees doing to quench your watch fix?

I was shrine hunting in Kyoto when I walked into some random market with heaps of small shops. My friend and I were the only tourists there that I could see and we walked past this small watch shop and the yellow watch face caught my eye, not really a pokemon fan but the colour looks so nice!

I am interested in getting a German watch. I like the idea of having a few different nice watches from all over the world. I've been looking at some of the Form Cs and Chronoscopes from junghans but would love to hear if anyone has recommendations or opinions!?
