Any tips or tricks? I’m excited to ascend from my QK60 HHKB to a split columnar stagger! Got the default TRRS cable that comes with it from Keebmaker but would you recommend I get one that’s a bit longer? If so, any preferred custom trrs cable makers?

Any tips or tricks?

Don't plug or unplug the TRRS cable when the keyboard is powered through USB, you wouldn't be the first one to fry their keyboard in this way.

Ah yes, I read that. Why does that happen?

The section that provides power gets dragged along the sections that are supposed to be for data (which cannot handle the power) and can fry the board.

Oooh. By section, you mean the 3 portions on the trrs cable divided by rings?

Ergonomic, split and other weird keyboards

Rules

Keep it ergo

Posts must be of/about keyboards that have a clear delineation between the left and right halves of the keyboard, column stagger, or both. This includes one-handed (one half doesn't exist, what clearer delineation is that!?)

i.e. no regular non-split¹ row-stagger and no non-split¹ ortholinear²

¹ split meaning a separation of the halves, whether fixed in place or entirely separate, both are fine.
² ortholinear meaning keys layed out in a grid
