How is it that devs decided to roll out it lacking basic functionality

It's very clearly a Beta.

We're essentially beta testing an app, you can hold off until the full release if you prefer, no one is forcing you to use the Beta.

Beta with a subscription feature and a $31 paywall to remove ads.

I'm all for Sync like everyone else here, but I agree that not being able to submit posts is pretty weird

It's a Beta, wait for the full release if you don't like it.

Or use one of the many FOSS apps, no one is forcing you to use Sync Beta.
