Alice in Chains, by Alice in Chains.

The first time I played it, it was so overcome by the production value and the steamrolling guitars and the clarity of Jerry Cantrel's vocal and the dirt on Layne Staley's voice that I immediately paused. I had been drinking and I knew the first listen had to be sober so I could really appreciate what I was hearing.

The following morning, right after I woke up, I hesitated right before I played it, afraid that it wouldn't be as good as I'd thought when drunk. It was just as fucking good. What an incredible album.
