The information obtained by Euronews corresponds with a news report from Azerbaijan-based international news channel AnewZ, which quotes a Russian military blogger who claims that “the damage to the aircraft suggests that plane may have been accidentally struck by an air-defence missile system”.

"May have"

AA missiles use proximity fuses that explode before impact and pepper the plane with shrapnal. Judging by the videos the pilots lost all controls of the plane and were pretty much flying it by individually throttling the engines. They did all they could and both of them died. It's a miracle that anyone survived that crash.
