This whole thread is fucking disappointing. Yes it's super shitty that tricare isn't going to cover trans kids. We just had a budget showdown where Elon fucking Musk tried to tank the entire nation. Biden signed this shit and said he hated that he had to do it because it excluded trans kids.

Anyone pissed at Biden about this is not a politically smart person and are easily manipulated becuase they not only lack political intelligence but lack the ability to gauge their lack of political intelligence.

If the DNC had chosen to run progressive policies we wouldnt be here. But they didnt and here we are.
They should have. Obama running on “change” should have clued them into something. But still, Biden didn’t elect this congress, nor write this bill, nor did he cause this mess we’re in. It’s fair to say dems didn’t swing hard enough, but the GOP has an unrelenting presence, propelling the problem and yet getting votes. Thats on Fox News not Biden.

It's amazing how you frame Biden's surrender as necessary and not the GOP's. They're responsible for the bill, but despite every other shutdown being blamed on them, would just then refuse to fund the troops they claim they love so much. You've so internalized "they're crazy, they'll do anything", which isn't actually how any of these confrontations play out, that you think the only reasonable solution is "just give them what they want".

The only thing it's denying is surgery that could cause sterilization. A thing that is pretty rare for children to undergo.
HRT can cause sterilization. It's very safe, but it can. The UK conservatives just banned puberty blockers on the claim that it could cause sterilization. There's nothing reasonable about this innocuous line. It's a carte blanche to stop all coverage.
Is that ever performed on minors for gender reassignment reasons anyway? It seems like a weird thing to ban. What's next, are they going to make it illegal to perform GRS on dead people?
It is, but it's not common. There's a metric fuck ton of hurdles that have to be jumped through, so it's basically just a dog whistle used to justify banning any gender affirming care.
