Update: the post is back, maybe people mass reported it and the bots took it down? I don’t know.

You can find more information in the post "Madison on why she quit" in this community.

To give a really short and unworthy TLDR Madison was an employee of LMG and have shared her - honestly abysmal and abusive - experience working there.
Some noteworthy quotes:

I was asked about my sexual history, my boyfriends sexual history, "how I liked to fuck".

I was told that certain issues were "sexual tension" and I should just "take the co-worker out on a coffee date to ease it out"

I was told I was chunky, fat, ugly, stupid. I was called "retarded" I was called a "faggot"

My work was called "dogs--t" I was called "incompetent".

"I think the reason you try to be funny, is because you lack any other skills." smiled then walked away.

I watched co-workers get what I had asked for weeks before they did. It took 2 months to get mine.

Also apparently some managers didn't like me because I "hadn't gotten drunk with them before" Which was said in that haha just jokin (but actually I'm serious) tone

I sincerely invite you to read the whole thread where she shared her story: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1691693740254228741.html

It seems that the Reddit admins are currently deleting all threads that link to Madison's experience.

I think Reddit might have automatically taken it down based on user reports and the content policy due to this part being taken NSFW?

Thank you! I read most of it in snippets but this is much easier to follow. It's so terrible and was what prompted me to unsubscribe.

I genuinely have no idea. Not even the mods there seem to know, but it was brought back, so maybe an error - or automatic script - of some kind? I fear we'll never know.

You are very welcome. I can only hope that the current visibility of her story will help others, in similar situations of distorted power dynamics, understand that what they are living is nor normal nor acceptable, and give them the courage to right it.

Wow. Thank you very much!

On top of the other shit going down at LMG for their sloppy to the point of unacceptable journalism (like screwing up numbers, ignoring manufacturer recommendations, selling prototypes of unreleased hardware without manufacturer consent), an ex worker at LMG also came forward about the working conditions there, including allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

[-] Hyperreality@kbin.social 30 points 1 year ago

selling prototypes of unreleased hardware without manufacturer consent

This isn't true. They didn't sell the prototype, they sold it at an auction. Entirely different, apparently.

[-] Semi-Hemi-Demigod@kbin.social 32 points 1 year ago

Ah, so they didn't sell it, they just sold it. Gotcha

[-] Hyperreality@kbin.social 20 points 1 year ago

No, no. They auctioned it. Selling it to the highest bidder isn't selling. It's 'auctioning'.

At leats that's what I gathered from Linus' explanation. LOL

[-] FoxAndKitten@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

They didn't sell it at auction, they sold it at an auction for charity. Entirely different

[-] Mozami@kbin.social 0 points 1 year ago

They didn't sell the prototype, they sold it at an auction.

So why say LMG didn't sell the prototype?

[-] 520@kbin.social 17 points 1 year ago

They're taking the piss out of Linus's own justification. Linus himself was the one to use this semantics argument unironically.

[-] Hyperreality@kbin.social 10 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Because selling to the highest bidder, isn't selling. It's auctioning,

And that's different somehow, at least according to Linus' explanation of this whole thing. I think we can trust Linus on this one, he has a proven track record of accuracy and honesty. LOL

An ex-ltt employee alleges harassment. Screenshots of the twitter thread where the employee talks about their experiences are being removed from reddit. Lemmy screenshots of that thread are here: https://lemmy.world/post/3269857

She was basically harrassed, bullied by co workers and leadership did nothing

She was overworked and so on

Thats the gist of it.

Its a lot of tweets. And theres a lot of details. I read it all and i would have quit too. Probably sooner than her.

Glad she is out of there. Seems like the worst "tech" place to work ive ever heard of.
