I would love to see a libre version or a version not released on Google Play. It would be possible to monetize it like FairMail or Threema Libre. It would be a win for all parties.

privacy for the end user
more customers for the sync team
advocacy for libre software

Considering it's not open source (as far as I know) and will likely require some form of purchase, it kinda limits the possibilities for distribution.
