I didn’t know the Chinese had any Rancors.

not only that but the wording implies they're native to China.
A Chinese Rancor, also known as a ‘Water Rancor’ is a different species than its American counterpart, colloquially referred to as a Rancor, but more accurately called an ‘American Rison.’
My first thought.
