Something that I realized about the fediverse is that you seem to be able to criticize the USA as a whole, but if you criticize the Democrats you get downvoted. Democrats suck they are not sacred cows (lemmy.ml)

Most people wanted to stop sending money for wars, and Democrats kept sending money for wars. Most people wanted to defund the police and democrats tripled the police budget. That is not a democracy. That is the total opposite of a democracy.

Thank you for the links! So grants and budget proposals, that makes sense. Those are the only 2 vehicles for the white house to add funding, right? The white house cant just “increase the police budget” right?
