Happy to be here. I enjoy the freedom of speech that I think we have here. I am encouraged by what appears to be more like-minded individuals. The Nicole thing is an inside joke I may never understand. ยฏ_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

Yes, I'm glad you are here. Over the last few years, there have been issues between different minded communities. Discussions were had, some genuine, some not, over free speech. Many have settled amicably, some were resolved by de-federating from each other.

General rule of thumb is, if you respect the rules of your instance, the community and the instance of the remote community, you will rarely get in trouble. If you feel the moderation is too lax (e.g. letting in trolls) or too strict (e.g. getting removed or banned for merely disagreeable takes), the freedom part of Lemmy is for you to move to a new server you find more accommodating, or your own server with blackjack and hookers.
