What exactly do you think the word "liberal" means? Because I can tell you right now that Jumbo Shrimp makes more sense than Nazi Liberal. They're opposed ideologies.
Buddy, if you can't see how Ronald Regan, creator of neo liberalism, led to fascism in America, you don't know what the words mean or their history. They ain't opposing. Ask Chuck Schumer how opposed he is.
Ronald Reagan is famously opposedto Liberalism.
See, this is what I mean by "you don't know what these words mean."
To quote the Wikipedia page of (keyword neo) NEO-liberalism
"Scholars tended to associate it with the theories of economists working with the Mont Pelerin Society, including Friedrich Hayek, Milton Friedman, Ludwig von Mises, and James M. Buchanan, along with politicians and policy-makers such as Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and Alan Greenspan."
You see, the word neo isn't just a funny haha shits and giggles addon. It's there for a reason. To be specific. Ronald Regan is not a liberal. He hated liberals. He's a neo liberal. Annoying? Yeah, but still, a purposeful distinction. Which you don't know about which makes talking to you "about" that specific topic very very hard. Cause you don't know the basic political vocabulary.
I'm not trying to be mean, it's really hard to say "you don't know what this word means" in a nice way to a stranger over the internet.
Finally, we're getting somewhere! An actual definition of what you think it means with some substance to it!
They were a thinktank operating on anti-governmental, pure privatizationg, unregulated "laissez-faire" markets, and most importantly ANTI-TAX.
Here is the hilarious part of all of this, you don't need to invent a new word with Liberal as the root for these people. We've had one since 1789. The word is Libertarianism. I'm sorry to be the one to teach you that the word you were using was the wrong word the entire time. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm sure this is quite embarrassing for you to lecture others on something you yourself were wrong about.
Nah, libertarians can be everything from the fucking gun-wielding nuts so common in the US to socialist libertarians or anarchists. OP used the word correctly and you are just wrong and a bit petty.
Libertarians vote Republican, that's all you need to know about them from a moral perspective. They're not big promoters of actual human rights.
I didn't write much in the previous comment. You didn't read or understand it. There ist more in the world than those shits you have in the US.
That's fair, I've never conversed with any Libertarians outside of the USA, however the specifics of USA and UK were given with the previous user as he specifically mentioned the socioeconomic policies of Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and Alan Greenspan. Those were all examples of Libertarianism, and several were explicitly anti-Liberal such as Ronald Reagan who said "If fascism ever comes to America, it will come in the name of liberalism."
~The Pot to the Kettle
Liberalism is a right-wing capitalist/colonial ideology based on white supremacy and economic pseudo-science. Historically it's been the basis of slavery, colonialism, genocide, etc. and it still serves that role today.
These people are definitely liberals.
I want it to be known thatI don't condone this removal. He didn't hurt my feelings with his mean replies, the comments should have stayed up.
Trump's nationalistic, protectionist policies are the exact opposite of neoliberalism 🤦♂️
It's debatable if Trump has any national pride / takes any protectionist actions or if that's just what he claims, but yeah neoliberalism is so poorly defined for people like L Law that I'm convinced it's just an excuse to sound like less of a monster when they unironically oppose actual liberalism.
Look at their replies, squirming and writhing saying "I don't need to define it because everybody already knows."
Tell that to Ronald Regan
Ronald Reagan: 'If Fascism Ever Comes to America, It Will Come in the Name of Liberalism'
It must be tiring being so aggro all the time. Come back when you've had a breather and maybe had a chance to read some definitions by actual scholars
Your definitions go against the scholarly consensus is my point. But thanks for sharing your irrelevant credentials, and congrats I guess
In a less than nice way, its tyranny of the law.
That is literally the opposite definition of the word.
Liberal means a political advocate of protecting personal rights and freedoms, unless those freedoms infringe upon the rights of others. I am very proudly liberal, myself.
If you were criticizing a specific liberal party or organization with liberal in the name that would be okay, but the post is about the USA where there is no Liberal Party. This is to say, the post can be interpreted to oppose liberalism as a concept. To conversely promote human beings not having rights.
Read a history book sometime about the actual history of liberals and liberalism.
If it's only for white people it fails the definition.
Why are you so hostile?
Why aren’t you?
Because fighting my allies for where we differ is counterproductive.
My definition lies in that "unless" clause
