I just happened upon this fellow posting into the Lemmy void about becoming a college athlete at 55 years old. This person is going to train for one full year in the hopes of becoming a college level athlete. They have no experience with rowing competitively.

I have no affiliation to this person it just seems like a neat story and we could all use a good story out of the political media circus that we are all inundated by.

I think it will be interesting and buddy (ok, yes, I am Canadian) seems to be a nice guy who wants to try and do something he's always wanted to accomplish but never had the opportunity until now.

I think that is pretty cool and should be supported. Looks like progress reports will be the thing.

Know something about rowing? Maybe pop by and help out.

Want to just follow the progress of a lone guy on a real mission to better himself? Join up.

Just maybe !newlaneuniversityrowing@sh.itjust.works Is for you.
