And that's why there are literally no good apps in the app store. Devs are forced to make it hypercapitalistic. To get a simple apple app running and out, it's multiple thousands of investments.
For Android it's one command to install android studio on any device, load a template, program, compile, sideload and you're done. Put it on git as GPLv2/3 for good measure.
“Literally no good apps”
... that aren't filled with ads and/or have a large price tag. Especially compared to the huge FOSS App collection Android has. And it's not like I could just be like "oh damnit then I'm just gonna use the terminal for doing task XY" - unless I jailbreak. Which Apple doesn't want, of course.
I have zero apps on my phone with ads and i haven’t paid for apps in years. Seems like youre commenting based on vibes and apple hate
I'm commenting on what I have experienced for years.
I new it was bad for devs on Apple, but holy shit. Now I finally know why Ankidroid is free on everything else but $25 on Apple. Atrocious, that shit is extortion...
Yep, the Google Play store is similarly arcane to the App store if not more so (you literally are forced to publicly give away your address and full legal name to have a monetized app on the play store), so thank God for sideloading
