ITT: People who didn’t check the community name

I mean it does show up on the feed as normal and sometimes people feel like it's fine to give an differing perspective to such communities.

Or know and disagree. When you tell strangers "you're a shitty person," then sometimes, they'll respond.

We finally proved neural networks worthwhile. All you need is data and compute, to do things we cannot figure out the smart way. We've been trying - for somewhere between sixty years and the history of civilization. Now it's here and people are mad that a robot reads library books. Oh no: copyright. A topic Lemmy totally respects outside this context.

There will be models built on data made specifically to build those models. Scaling down looks smarter than scaling up, and even from-scratch experimentation might shrink enough to become local. Some of your ethical arguments will simply cease to apply. They will be solved. Congratulations. But will that change how you feel about the end product?

Companies are already looking to hire artists to use this new kind of tool. Human beings will put in hours of intelligent effort to get novel results out these models. Or if you feel nothing the model does could ever be novel, and is always generic filler... then human beings will use the model to avoid generic busywork.

Wow how did I never realize this?
