I personally think people blame political party representatives, the political parties themselves, far too much. I think the problem lies with the general population.

I also assert that people always think in binary opposition, "both sides", "both parties", two. Always one, always two, never three, never four, never five, never six, never thirteen comprehension of the Great Seal of the Untied States of America - symbolism of 13, not just "two sides".

Since year 2010, we in the USA have all had Internet access (even if at our public library), yet people continue to blame:

  1. People blame the "mainstream media", then people make Joe Rogan the mainstream media. Joe Rogan has all the same problems of the old "Mainstream Media", as does Reddit and Lemmy.

  2. (1A) We have had a book since 1985 that had plenty of copies printed, inexpensive, only 188 pages, was translated into many languages on the topic of "mainstream media" issue of CNN, Fox News. Again, since 1985: https://www.goodreads.com/work/quotes/2337731-amusing-ourselves-to-death-public-discourse-in-the-age-of-show-business - why can't people get on the same page, help each other discuss THE PROBLEMS of "mainstream media" instead of just throwing "MSM" around as a thought-terminating cliché phrase.

  3. (1B) On Reddit /r/News and /r/WorldNews of the past 15 or 18 years - people do not become EDITORS to the story with every posting. Why not REPLACE the shitty clickbait headline? Because the audience CRAVES the clickbait headline, that's why newspapers use them in the first place. Neil Postman's 1985 book is addressing that problem, but we have ignored what he has said since 1985. There was nothing PREVENTING reddit users from creating /r/WorldNews0000 with a group of editors who rewrite headlines, add summary to why a news story is good or bad and the merit of it being shared, etc. The platform was there, what was absent was We The People coming Together.

  4. Second Bill of Rights talks about corporate power going too far in January 1944. Yet every time I witness social media conversations about corporate power being too strong, nobody mentions the Second Bill of Rights. Even "Occupy Wall Street" in 2011 didn't emphasize the Second Bill of Rights from 1944. I see no good reason that people avoid it as a regular topic other than people are not seeing the forest of problems for individual trees.

  5. When there is a problem with the general population, society, people blame schools. That is children, that is not addressing all the old people who flock to Rupert Murdoch media systems such as Fox News HDTV. All the people with established experience, accumulated assets, built-up power are flocking to Fox News HDTV - and we have known this, and they don't go to schools, the "education system" is not where people learn, Fox News is their school!. Again, Neil Postman addressed this in 1985 and 1995 in direct and understandable ways. We need to stop acting like we don't have good teachers on these subjects. Changing Schools is not fixing the Baby Boomer generation in year 2010 who attacks Occupy Wall Street because their education and school is Fox News HDTV. We The People must educate and teach ADULTS who are post-school post-education, and Rupert Murdoch is the one doing the education, and we are not addressing that crisis!

Politicians are to REPRESENT us. News organizations REPORT ABOUT US. We The People are the source of our society. And What I see is people blaming the representatives as if they are the cause and origins of problems, entirely ass-backwards thinking.

Great progress in society has come from leaders like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr who educated himself, traveled all around the nation talking to people - even before he finished his doctorate degree in 1955 - and shared progressive ideas and thinking instructions. He was not a GOVERNMENT elected official. He was "We The People" educating and changing "We The People". He didn't just blame the mainstream media and blame the religion systems, he presented education using reason thinking and taught people why things were bad and how we could do better.

What do we flock to in 2024 and 2025? Joe Rogan. He is a non-elected non-government leader, who is no Dr. Martin Luther King Jr doctorate. Joe Rogan is a "Reality Podcast" personality in year 2024 as much as Donald Trump was a "Reality TV"" personality two decades earlier in 2004, both entertainers, not serious educators. We The People avoid and grey-rock intelligent and serious educators. WE are the ones who crave click-bait and Joe Rogan "experience".
