me and ex have dated for around 11 months. I broke up with her because she would only spend time on video games and her friends.

she was hardly ever online and when she was, never spoke to me.

she lost interest in me and was seeing other ppl without my knowledge or consent. it turned out, she didn’t even have feelings for me.

she also used to be incredibly abusive, homophobic, transphobic, even racist (which is why I broke up the first time) but is now suddenly a huge lesbian rights supporter (I’m proud of her growth though).

even when I speak in the GC, they all just talk to each other, ignore my messages, and talk about their video games, tv show, etc.

like, if anyone (especially my ex) says something, her friends will be like “OMG SO TRUE THATS HILARIOUS” but talk over me.

my ex will somewhat talk to me, but her friends will act like I don’t exist

Sounds like diverging interests to me. It's like you're trying to be part of a group that wants to chat about a topic that doesn't interest you, and your topics don't interest them. It's like if I walk into the Smash (a game on Switch) club and ask if anyone wants to play Mario Party. Of course most of the club members will ignore and dismiss me, and it has nothing to do with relationships with other club members.

I would say purposeful neglect and ignorance is worse than simply diverging interests. Also, the fact they flat out said they never had feelings for OP which is super effed up.(plus the cheating) Ex and friendgroup are genuinely bad people.

This. ⬆️ I’m glad someone said it. This lady flat-out never liked OP and cheated on her with her friend. She ignored OP even while they were dating. Even if I didn’t have the same interests as my girlfriend/AMICABLE ex, I would still not ignore them

we are friends again and we are both happier without each other :) i think i will also make a separate lemmy acc since this one has too many mental health stuff 😭
